Another thing that should be mentioned...Alan Anderson played like garbage offensively, and he took a lot of really bad shots, I was furious with him at many points throughout the game...but his defense was outstanding. Stayed in front of Paul whenever he was matched up with him and did a great job, and he forced a jump ball at another important point of the game too.
KG deserves props too...didn't get much playing time because of foul trouble and us pulling away before the 4th quarter, and he didn't do much offensively, but his defense was straight up elite. Communicating, trapping, covering ground, and shutting down Griffin. This is the KG I was expecting when we made the trade.
Pierce looks better than he has all season as a bench player. More aggressive, facilitates better, and there's a clear hierarchy when he's out there with the 2nd unit. He's been solid these last 2 games off the bench, and I honestly think this should be a permanent change. When Kirilenko comes back, I'm not even sure if he should start over Anderson. I'm not saying that as if Anderson is all that good...it's just that Anderson is a good shooter and spaces the floor. Kirilenko doesn't shoot the 3 ball well, even though he's very active off the ball. I think Pierce and Kirilenko together off the bench would be such a force to be reckoned with on the 2nd unit. Especially with Kirilenko at PF.
