I do agree with one point that was mentioned. As well as Dwight played, we weren't really getting that dribble penetration that fuels our perimeter game. We took only 19 threes in this game (not counting Dwight's heave), and we had a lot of possessions in the half-court. It's really what Portland wanted us to do..

Bev getting some offensive rebounds is nice but that is not something he does consistently. Right now the Rockets are getting nothing in terms of passing or shooting from the PG spot when he is in the game. His defense although very good tonight is overrated. He the best of the bunch in terms of guard play on this team. He is not Gary Payton.

Think more and more a trade involving Asik might have to bring back another PG. This team needs another big but your not going anywhere with Beverly as your starting point.

i can see asik, dmo, and garcia being moved, but no pt guard coming back.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming Bev for the loss. At least he contributed big time in other areas of the game. Chandler was a surprising no show to the party. Jones struggled, but we rely on Parsons to be that third impact player and he didn't give us anything most of the night. The bench...what bench?

It was a fun game to watch though overall. I'm looking forward to round 3.

Agree. We dont need a PG. We are more than fine with Bev/Lin/Brooks.
I dont see PG as a position of weakness for us. And to be honest its probably the least important position for the Rockets. Harden basically functions as a PG.

Rockets need big man depth. I'll like to bring in an upgrade at 4 and bring Tjones off the bench.

Harden a ball stopper. I don't want Harden acting as the PG because he just not good at it. I'm fine with Lin but if he not going to start then this team needs an upgrade at PG. Beverly is a 3rd string PG. On a team that wants a long run in the playoffs you can't expect to go far with his play. He is good enough to get you wins against 80% of the league. The problem is its those games against the Spurs, Heat, Blazers, OKC, Pacers, etc when he is going to cost you. You don't need a superstar point guard. Just someone who is not a liability on one end of the floor. This team is a Kyle Lowry and Amir Johnson away from being great.

Court vision is not something you can teach and learn in short period of time(say 2 years) If Harden is focusing on ball handle then he will loss some of his offense that Houston count on. Houston may win some game but that is not going to move then to conference final. The most 2 round exit. By the way, any elite PG will NOT want to join Houston as support cast of Harden.
