snow and bad pitch?
come on, man. i had juventus as one of the top 6-7 teams in europe my list.
snow and bad pitch is a weak *** excuse for not making the round of the last 16. i'm talking about 6 games in the group stage. i'm talking about a team that deseverdly reached the 1/4 finals last season, a team that has been together for quite a some time now and added a lot of firepower in the summer. a team that should be on par with, say, chelsea, city, arsenal, paris.
snow and a bad pitch is too lame to even mention it.
juve failed. period.

ah i'm still not over it but unfortunately this is true. One could say Juve "deserved" to advance after "outplaying" Gala and Copenhagen the first two games, but "bad luck" and a give away on defense saw them only draw those matches. Gala can easily say that the pitch was just as bad for them...because it was.
CL winning teams don't make boneheaded mistakes and they find ways to put the ball in the back of the net, regardless of how many shots they had...these losers can only blame themselves.

I laughed at Chelsea and United when they were eliminated in group stage but now i feel their pain lol....at least the Europa League finals are at Juventus Stadium. If they were to make it that would be really fun

Did you watch the game?

I am 100% sure that Galatasaray could never win the game against Juve if there was no snow storm and muddy pitch.

Most of the people in Turkey were worried about Galatasaray, that they believed FC Copenhagen would go to Europa League and Galatasaray would finish at the bottom. Both Mancini & chairman Unal Aysal said that Galatasaray had little chance of achieving to the 2nd round. Even the coach & chairman did not believe that could happen...

I am again 100% sure that; if the game was not delayed, Mancini would try to tie the game to 0-0, rather than trying to get a win. They heard the result of FC Copenhag - RM game and adjusted tactics accordingly.

If I were Juve, I would protest UEFA heavily. Galatasaray is awarded because we were not able to keep the pitch clean. This is simply absurd.

Javanar I think you are.a bit hard on your own team there.

I thought it was nearly impossible to score on that quagmire of a soccer pitch. Juve only needed a draw from this game so actually they had kind of an advantage because they didnt have to score. And afterall the conditions were the same for both teams. so I dont see how juve can complain about that.

it was bit of a lucky goal, sneijder didn't even look at the shot. that being said juventus never should've let it come down to a single game where luck could play a big factor.

if it were a knock out stage game, they'd have every right to complain. but they should have already been qualified...

anywho, when is the draw for the next round?

Of course you get Bayern Munich. Told you a few days back already lol.

City vs. Barca is gonna be good.

Leverkusen and Schalke are eliminated already. SMH. No way they beat Real or PSG.

With Real's extremely shaky defense, I expect the RM v S04 matches to be somewhat close/competitive.

Gotta love the luck of the draw, playing Zenit is a dream right now and winning that group late on in France was huge for Dortmund. If healthy, we could make a nice run like last year.

Really feel for Arsenal. That's some awful luck but perhaps the second match from last year coupled with their subpar performance in their last CL fixture against City can give the gooners some confidence against a strong Bayern side.

City-Barca and Atleti-Milan should be good ties.
Speaking of Milan, is KPB cup tied or will he be playing against Madrid?

Goodie. His technique never fails to impress. Haven't seen him play since he left Milan but Schalke having him in their midfield will keep our defense busy I'm sure.
