they have a plethora of big men who are injured, but ready to come back and play soon.

between zaza, udoh, henson, ilyasova, sanders, and that guy with an impossible name to spell, would they be willing to unload one of them? i'm guessing sanders and ilyasova will move into the starting lineup when completely healthy. why can't the knicks go for henson (tough to grab, is really showing he belongs in the NBA when given PT), zaza, or, unfortunately, udoh?

i'm not a huge fan of any of their PG because none are pass-first, but ridnour isn't too bad at running an offense. not a big fan of knight, but i don't know much about him.

Nate Wolters and Luke Ridnour are both pass first point guards. They're actually very similar. Wolters is a bit more athletic and quicker afoot...but he's inexperienced and can't see the Knicks trusting him to run things. Ridnour is more experienced but appears to be on the downside of his career (his shooting has gone into the toilet 3 years straight).

The Bucks are probably currently in the lead in the Tank for Wiggins race.

Henson (along with Sanders) are not going to be guys they would deal. Henson, Sanders and Antetokounmpo right now are their future. Ilyasova would probably be someone they'd be willing to entertain trading given their glut up front, relative age/situation and value in a trade to get someone real useful back. But unless the plan is to trade Anthony, Ilyasova kinda overlaps what Anthony does in many areas (just not as good).

Zaza would be the one that probably makes the most sense if he can be had for cheap. He's a big, physical guy, that isn't afraid to get into opposing teams grills, he's a solid post defender, he has some offensive moves.

I didn't know much about wolters other than young. Thats why I didn't wanthim. I always viewed ridnour, not as pass first, but a good floor general and high IQ. I like him, but I meant pass first like vasquez prigs or rondo pass first. The team does well when pablo gets PT.

I don't think henson or sanders are attainable either. But with henson proving useful, I figured they'd be willing to move ilysova or zaza. I'm not too interested in ersan for reasons like you said. But I like zaza, when he's not hurt. Would they swap jr and zaza?

Why not see about Melo and JR/Felton to Clips for Griffin.

felton/MWP/2018 1st for Lowry

Bargs/THJ/Shump for Thad/Turner

I don't do the first w/o the 2nd. Dump for Philly--they get a contract that ends earlier than Thads, and 2 rook contracts.

Tyson/Melo/Thad/Turner/Lowry bench:Prigs,JR, STAT,Kmart

only Thad, JR, Melo(assuming he resigns) left in 2015.

longshot with Philly, I know

I did it

Knicks-Clippers-Cavaliers

Knicks get- Dion Waiters, Anderson Varejao, Jared Dudley, Jamal Crawford, 2 1st Round Picks from Cleveland and 2 2nd Round Picks

Clippers get- Carmelo Anthony, Tristan Thompson and Iman Shumpert

Cavaliers get- Blake Griffin

why?

Knicks- Get a ton of assets for Melo/Blakes. Waiters and Bennett have potential, Varejao, Dudley and Crawford are solid vets but the 2 1st Rounders and 2 2nd Rounders are the big get.

Clippers- They get their #2 guy in Melo who fits in perfectly with that team as constructed. Thompson while not Blake on offense is way better defensively and can shoot. Shumpert who just has lost it in New York gets a fresh start and will be groomed by Doc and is also a great fit for a team who struggled getting stops and closing games they fix both issues instantly.

Cavaliers- They've tried to build through the draft but they haven't gotten the Superstars they were looking for. Kyrie and Blake is intriguing and if they can move Jack and a few other contracts over the summer LeBron has to like what he says potentially building there.

We're never getting all that back for Melo. We'd be lucky to do a Melo - Griffin swap.

you think thats too much, each of those teams Clippers/Cavaliers get better immediately while the Knicks get needed picks and a couple of young talents

i'm just messing around with the trade machine. i'll do my best to justify it, but it may be stupid. again, i was planning on going shopping but too much snow is forcing me to stay inside.

knicks trade: melo, felton (or jr :D)
knicks get: okafor, dragic, mark. morris, plumlee, 2014 1st rounder (PHO has 3 of them, pick one)

clippers trade: griffin, crawford
clippers get: melo

suns trade: okafor, dragic, morris, plumlee, 2014 first rounder
suns get: griffin, crawford, felton

- knicks get dragic and youth with a pick (okafor expires this year for 2015 plan)
- clips get that second star to put next to cp3
- suns gets another high-profile, dynamic "star" to pair with bledsoe, who seems to be their future.

or, knicks can also send JR to clips as well, and they'd send matt barnes to PHO

We have no leverage. He can opt out and we have the worst record in the league. Everyone knows we're desperate.

I know that but he cant just sign with the Clippers, which is probably where he wants to go if New York doesn't work out so that gives us leverage, Cleveland IMO wants to pair Kyrie with another star and the Knicks need youth and picks not a big name since they seem not to know what to do with Carmelo Anthony

There is no leverage if Dolan is set on not striking out. Having him sign with the Lakers in FA would be the worst case scenario for him.
