I would take Asik over DeRozan for this team, but the truth is we can't get any of them.
Please excuse my bad English, this is not my native language :)

Anderson Varejao would probably be the best option, and he would cheaper as well. Fillers plus a 1st round pick, might get it done.

He can't stay healthy. That's such a Knicks move, throw 1st rounders for over the hill injured veterans.

Except for the fact that the Heat can actually win the title. A 25-30 isn't going to do much to win now.

Varejao would be great here idk what some of you guys are saying. He looked pretty good yesterday against us. Hed be an impact player for us although Cleveland would be the last team to help us in the nba

heat do not have any assets besides the big 3. Try to step into Reality for one second. Toronto will need first round picks..at least 2 for DD. heat can not trade their 2014, and the earliest next one they can trade is 2017.

Not possible

Except someone who can play 20-30mpg every game in the backcourt, soak up the minutes when Wade is resting & be a player good enough to start & allow Wade to go to the Manu 6th man role next year.

Apart from that he brings nothing.

9 million dollars for a guy who would be 7-8th man? Guys like Jamaal Crawford get MLE and Derozan is not even on that kind of level. He scores because he is given the ball at a high usage. He does flashy dunks to get points we don't need that we need spot up shooters who can defend while guys like Bosh should be in the paint.

Or he could just continue status quo. We've seen how his body takes that. His reduced athleticism will eventually require him to reinvent his game, and what better way to ensure we always have at least 2 of the big-3 on the court. He would still get the same mount of mpg, but see more against second units & next year we likely won't have Allen.

A bench lead by Wade/Beas would be devastating - problem is we won't get a player good enough to fill the starting 2 & I don't see Heat going the Thabo/Harden route. IMO DeRozan is good enough, but we couldn't get him & his contract is a bit too big.

It's always great when people overreact to other posters having opinions they don't agree with. lolwut? Really?

I think you're underestimating the impact DeRozan would have in our system. He would be a 7-8th this year, then be first guard off the bench next year, when we likely don't have Allen.

I honestly don't think it's a viable trade, I'm just saying its not without merit from our side.
