Apparently he gave it a try in the instructional league but topped out at 83~86 MPH, can't someone teach him the knuckler or the Moyer changeup?

Even if it was a PR move to sign with the Jays for one-day, so what? A bunch of players have done it.
Mike Modano did it with the Dallas Stars
Hideki Matsui did it this year with the Yankees
Donovan McNabb did it with the Eagles
Adam Greenberg did it with the Marlins
Jerry Rice signed a one-year ceremonial contract with the Giants
JT Snow did it with the San Fran Giants
Doug Gilmour retired after that one game post-trade deadline with the Leafs after he got injured
It's a classy move that classy franchises make to boost PR for the team and show goodwill to great players. It also helps for when the HoF comes calling, especially in HoF's where the rule is you don the jersey of the last team you played for.
If anything, it's indicative that Halladay wants to wear the Jays uniform when he enters the Hall, and wants the public and the voters to know that.

spykelee: You don't want to love the 1 day contract?

spykelee: But you have to love the 1 day contract.

Of course, Kramer was just being Kramer. He wasn't intentionally trolling the AIDS walk.
One flew east, one flew west, one flew over the cuckoo’s nest.

Identifying with the cast of Seinfeld as a defense is potentially more hilarious than the show itself.

Dave Stieb (tied with Roy as my fav Blue Jay starters of all-time) retired in 1993 due to back problems and came back 5 years later at 40 y/o as a reliever for the Jays, never say never I guess?

I think Stieb pitched 1098 innings over a 4 year stretch early in his career, which may have had something to do with the injuries
That's an average of 275 innings for 4 straight seasons
Not bad for a converted outfielder

Doc hanging around the club is already enough to ask for, but say we're a few games out of the last playoff spot in around August, can a part-time pitching coach get on the roster and be eligible to play?
