We need to do this deal already so we can repackage Kyle Lowry by the deadline.
Lowry has way more value than Felton, right now & in the future.

This week:
Raptors get - Raymond Felton, Beno Udrih, Cole Aldrich & 2018 1st rd pick (protected)
Knicks get - Kyle Lowry

February:
Celtics get - Kyle Lowry, Iman Shumpert, Wesley Johnson, & Pau Gasol
Lakers get - Tyson Chandler, JR Smith & Tour'e Murray.
Knicks get - Rajon Rondo, Brandon Bass & Gerald Wallace

- Celtics get a ton of expirings (Kyle & Pau) & prospects (Kyle, Shump & Wesley). They also drop dead weight in Wallace.
- Lakers become players for 2015 instead of 2014, while improving now.
- Knicks loses no money virtually as Gerald Wallace 3rd yr equals JR & Felton's 3rd yr, if not a little less. Obtains the franchise PG needed for Melo, plus when Rondo expires, he & another star (Love? Aldridge?) can work out contracts that benefit fitting both under our cap with Melo & others.

we arent going to get a guaranteed deal for rondo...therefore, im not pulling the trigger.

also, wallaces contract is 10 million. jrs is 6. as bad as jr has played, wallace is equally bad...if not worse (and he sure as hell will be in 2 years).

we also lose our best defensive big...meaning bargs / amare will be our starting center - kenyon probably wont stay healthy enough to be a starter every single night.

If he's willing to take a 1 year deal, he could get 1 yr 9 mil from us.

Much better than what he's worth, but we shouldnt even think of giving up what the rumored packages are.

He cant ask for more... Even he knows that NYK will try to get Rondo, Rubio or Parker in 2015
Sources say that he wants to play in NY, so he could have a chance to do it for 2 years!!

Also Fields contracts expire in 2015, so dumping JR makes even more sense to get him back

No issues there, but no picks, no youngsters included in this deal....Lowry is not that dude.

Your proposal work imo.....no to Novak though.

Same here... thats why I think the best deal for us would be sending a package of Felton, Smith, MWP and Udrih or Aldrich for Lowry and Fields (because of the 2015 plan)

And we shoundnt think about Rondo before 2015 just because of terrible 12M of Wallace

Chandler
2015 pick
Carmelo
Hardaway JR
Rondo

Nor the risk of having to tap into that 2015 capspace just to get a 20-30% better Felton. No long commitment to salary...stick with the plan. They want Anthony long term. Anthony is not the type of player that can lead a team of just supporting players all by himself to the promised land (not really a knock on him, not many guys can, Lebron basically and even he needed elite guys around him). IF they want Anthony, then need to focus on getting him a comparable partner in crime...not a gaggle of decent to good role players.

20-30% lol. Lowry is ranked 10th in assists currently in the league. Hes avg 15ppg and 7 assists and that was with Rudy Gay hogging the ball. He also plays defense and will call out any player if he feels they screwed up. He also ups his game in crunch time.

I understand not wanting to give up a pick or young players, but dont use that as an excuse to bring Lowry down to Feltons level. Felton is trash and as you have all said, a cancer in the locker room.

Well, since we're using stats here, what is 70% of 15 pts and 7 assists? About 10 pts and 5 assists, which is what Felton is averaging.

Taking these impressive stats further Lowry gives you 75% of John Wall.

Its insane to think waiving lowry is a better option for toronto than accepting NY's current offer. He's the difference between 9th and 4th for the knicks, and the 9th pick and 4th pick for the raptors.

Its assets first losing second, that doesnt mean you cant get assets and lose.

waiving lowry is better than taking NY's offer. Keeping lowry is better than waiving him. Trading lowry for value is better than keeping him.

I am so disappointed in this board.

Only 230 pages in this thread?

Bunch of no-good wussy lazy slacker bums is what you are.

300 pages or no pudding for all of you.

Oh i thought you were saying trade for NYs offer. Lowry needs to be traded for value and until that offer comes by we need to be patient.

Eh, - 1
Even if Rondo isn't guaranteed, I would do the deal. Kyle Lowry is younger & expiring. Way more value than Felton.

Also, I said JR AND Raymond's 3rd yr combined switched with Wallace. So that's, JR ($6) + Felton's ($4) = Gerald Wallace ($10 mill)

Also, there's way more players worth attempting to get before the deadline.
Knowing the Lakers interest in Chandler for maybe Pau Gasol, I think we can use that for our benefit.

Let's say we do the TOR deal as I listed.
We could target someone like Mike Conley.

Do a trade like this:
Grizzlies - Kyle Lowry, Steve Blake, Iman Shumpert, Wesley Johnson & Pau Gasol

Lakers get - JR Smith, Zach Randolph & Tyson Chandler

Knicks get - Mike Conley, Tony Allen & Steve Nash

- Grizzlies gets Pau back, plus everyone they obtain are expiring.
- Lakers improve plus Zach & Tyson both expire in 2015.
- Knicks obtain their franchise PG on a good deal. Plus get out of JR's 3rd yr, saving money for 2015

There's many other scenarios I can think of off the top of my head.
Lowry makes sense as far as trade chips go. It's not even close really.
