carmelo anthony will be 34 years old and most surely near the end of his physical prime in 2018 for those who are okay with trading the pick, lotto protected or not.

Knicks out: Carmelo Anthony
Knicks in: Beal, Porter Jr. Webster, Vesely + 1st

Then you have a couple of trade chips in Shump and TH Jr. that you can use to try to get a point guard.

Fire Woody, hire Byron Scott.

Tank next year and then try to sign a max free agent in 2015.

PG?
Beal
Porter
Love
Chandler

2015 - 2016 Knicks
Play time is over.

then it's a pointless exercise. what this team needs to do is what's best for everyone. he'd love to be in la, he'd like it even better if he got to play with paul. trade him to the clippers. add tyson to the deal if it meant sweetening the deal for them in keeping blake out west in den. get new york's pick back.

tank the rest of the season. tank in 2014. sign the best players you can in 2015, and odds are you won't have to worry about that 2016. you may even have one of the better young teams in the league who haven't began to scratch the surface while the likes of bron paul melo durant duke it out.

Wait a minute…there is one Jarebko in the NBA and he is with the Pistons…my team. You are saying JR Smith for Jarebko? Lets see…Detroit has Jennings, Stuckey, Billups, KCP, Bynum, and Siva. Yes, Detroit needs perimeter shooting but not hot and cold JR Smith. When he is cold he stays cold for much too long. Detroit needs a productive, consistent shooting guard or small forward and the Knicks has nothing to offer unless it Tim Hardaway JR and I know he isn’t going anywhere.

Billups, Stuckey and Bynum are all UFA, which of them do you see them keeping for next season? If they let Stuckey go Smith could be a useful 6th man while giving up a mediocre rotation player at best. Depends if they plan on trying to keep Stuckey and I haven't see enough of KCP to comment on his future at the 2. Let Stuckey walk, trade Monroe and Bynum/KCP for your starting 2 guard and have Smith as your 6th man! Doooooooooo it. Plus J Smoove, Smith and Jennings all on the same team? Thats a dream come true.

I also give you props for reading through another boards massive trade ideas thread

The writer proposed a trade by January 15. Again, Detroit needs consistent production from the perimeter. If they are not getting that I don’t see them giving up salary cap space for JR Smith who has been known for his streaky production. One game he can fill it up and then the next two or three he can’t hit the broad side of a barn. Pistons has to consider the fact that they are going to have to pay Monroe next season; that’s about $10-$15 mil or they may sign and trade him or Josh for a proven SF or SG. At this point I would much rather keep Stuckey than trading for JR Smith. You wrote...“Plus J Smoove, Smith and Jennings all on the same team? Thats a dream come true.” Are you serious? That's just what the Pistons need. Two chuckers (Josh and Jennings) and a verrrry streaky perimeter guard. If JR Smith is all that why do you want Knicks to trade him? Are you sure you are a Knick fan?

Do I really need to answer that question? I thought it was pretty clear that is was intended as a joke about those three playing on the same. And also from the tone of the post you could tell I dislike JR Smith and want him off the Knicks badly anyway possible. It was definitely mostly in jest if that helps clear it up for you.

I share your self-destruct proposal. But that line-up you got there? You see what's going on with the T-Wolves this season, right? That's us with that line-up. I really think Love is totally overrated.

Might as well ask for John Wall too if your goal is for Washington to get a kick out of it.

Am I the only one that has an image of Steve Mills sitting at his desk with papers all over the place, his hair a mess, waiving his arms while screaming "I don't know what to do!!!"?
