What do you guys think on this ?
We get: Lin & Asik
Rockets get: Chalmers, Jones, Haslem & Anthony. (maybe add a pick or 2)

There is plenty of reasons not do it (Salary next year, Lin is not really wanted, loyalty and more) but I think if the Rockets agree we should do it, Asik value can be really big for us.
Please excuse my bad English, this is not my native language :)

That's just horrible for Rockets. 0% they do it. We don't have the assets to get Asik, forget about it.

trade is highly unrealistic.

Although I will say their is a very good chance that when we retool this summer we end up deciding money spent elsewhere deems Rio expendable and NoCo assumes that starting PG spot.

This trade is not so bad for the Rockets IMO, yes they can probably get better but this is not bad and I will explain.

They get rid from both Asik AND LIN who have a big payroll for next year, they get a very good PG for their system, he can hit the 3, he can defend (better then Lin) and he doesn't need the ball so it remains in Harden hands, they get a back up center for the few minutes Howard isn't in the game, they get another 3pt shooter that can always help this kind of a team (I will even consider replacing Jones with Shard if they prefer) and they get a good veteran that can help a few minutes here a few minutes there...

Chalmers plays defense. Lin is a scorer and occasional passer. We have enough scoring in Miami. Haslem won't ever get traded from this team. He'll have to retire to leave. Aside from that, there's no way Houston would ever do that deal.

Hypothetical:

Bosh + Joel+ Pick to the Lakers for Gasol, Jordan Hill and Nick Young

+100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000....

In out system of Play.. We need energy from every spot.. Not slow and Lumbering a.k.a Pau... Which is why Birdman works so fine.. Jordan Hill would be nice.. But not at the cost of Bosh.. NOOOOO Way..

We need to go after that kid Terrence Jones for our PF spot.. He can keep maintain the spacing, rebound, is young, athletic and all.. I've been impressed.. Houston is looking for an upgrade at that spot and a back-up C. even if we can't give them the PF they want we could give them picks, a 3pt shooter and Joel. they could package that with Asik for a PF and all..

I feel like there might be a lot of trades happening.. Like a domino effect with many teams now. We could potentially cash in as a team trying to facilitate he movement of major pieces between other teams with picks and small fillers..

..and try to improve.. not something unrealistic.. but like I said.. get maybe a Terrence Jones or something...

Amir Johnson would be ideal. It's very very unlikely tho. He's playing very well and Masai will not be fleeced.

Terrence Jones has become a nice dependable player for Houston. The only way I could see us possibly getting him and Asik would be to give up Bosh. I don't know how I feel about that though.

Yeah.. No way we can pull getting both Jones and Asik off without Bosh.. I don't want us to give up Bosh.. I'd prefer we come up with some way to just get Jones by being the 3rd or 4th team that helps facilitate Houston getting a player at the 4 spot and us getting away with Jones..

T.J. isn't going anywhere for the foreseeable future. I could see him being moved if Houston actually were to pursue Ryan Anderson, but now that he's exploding and Anthony Davis is out for a while, he's basically all they have in the paint right now.

Amit Johnson is the perfect type of player for this squad. Almost too perfect. He's basically a better version of birdman

I think JHamilton and Ennis make our roster next year. They would be great off the bench. We'd have some great scoring with Ennis, Hamilton, Beas and Cole.

Do we have a 1st pick this year? We might either trade it or use it, who knows. Could be another Cole situation where a player is immediately in our line up and in our bench.

Yeah. I agree. As long as they don't go for a new PF our pursuit is futile.

However, I do believe with the Asik thing coming up they could go for an upgrade at PF with someone. Which is why I suggested going after him. Hopefully, they get a better PF and we can squeeze ourselves as a third/fourth team trying to make the trade work in between.

It won't be easy at all. Just a guy to keep an eye out on though.

Another group of players we could look to poach are the current Lakers mercenaries. Obviously next year.

The 2 players on the top of my list among these would be:

1. Jordan Hill (I'd prefer T. Jones whom I've raved about earlier because he has greater potential and can also stretch the floor, but Hill is also a pretty good option.)
2. Nick Young

Both are young and will be great in providing that spark of the Bench. It will greatly help upgrade our aging roster for the next 3-4 years. Young and Beasley backing up Wade and James would be great. Couple that with a Defensive big like Bird/Oden and Cole and its very very good in my opinion.

People might have concerns about the defense of these players but I believe we get players to buy into our system and it makes them better.. As long as you are not old and really slow..

There is another player I'm closely looking at.. Jimmy Butler.. He's been lackluster so far and I'm really hoping Deng is re-signed. Having Deng on the team would pretty much make Butler dispensable. Also, he's a great kid. The only player on that team I like.

Impossible to not like.

The Bulls are unlikely to trade with us. I know. Still, I would like to think we could be involved in some three way deal or so... or... Pick him off the team the Bulls have traded him to.

So.. I've laid out a fair share of all my pipe-dreams for a good couple of months.. Hopefully, we get at-least one of these players without breaking up our regulars..

This, I have to disagree on. Firstly, Butler is not a SG. He can't create of the dribble well enough and is also not a good-enough play-maker. He's best at the SF spot. This much is painfully obvious to see.

Secondly, He's too passive for the Bulls and does almost nothing when Deng is on the floor alongside him.

Thirdly, Tony Snell, a rookie on their roster has a better upside.

and Finally, the Bulls have 2 picks this year. Their own and Charlotte's. If they continue to suck like this they could very well end up in the top 5 in lottery. I mean, they're losing against Milwaukee and Utah.. They are getting a second shot creator and play-maker out of that for sure. They will also look for a big after amnestying Boozer and bringing along Mirotic from Europe.

We should look to acquire a young player in Battier's mould in the off-season, or maybe even this season if he's available via trade or something. Reliable 3 plus great D. Any possibilities?

I'm really hoping Ennis can fill that role.
