Get rid of David Lee
We excelled in the Playoffs without him. His midrange shot, the only thing that made him an NBA player in the first place, is gone. He's an absolutely atrocious defender.
We'll be fine when Iggy gets back, but we're going nowhere with Lee in the playoffs. He was barely useful when he was firing from all-cylinders on offense -- he's becoming Stoudamire now, and we need to ship his ass off when he has even the smallest semblance of value left.
Since every other thread is now a "rant about Lee" thread, may as well centralize it.

Nobody wants him, they're going to have to bite the bullet and put him in a lesser role.

Re: Get rid of David Lee
league execs have noticed his abysmal play this year. if you think we get anything back from him at this point you have to be joking. best thing we could hope for is an expiring, but that money is just going to head straight to klay.
if we could somehow convince the nets to take him for a one legged garnett i would have to give it serious consideration, but i bet we get laughed at.

Lee is the scape goat. I think he's valuable (right know he looks like he's doubting himself). Lack of execution, undisciplined play and turnovers. As a whole, our team defense sucks. To blame bad defense on one player isn't fair. It's on all 5 guys on the court.
There are so many things wrong with this team it's hard to pin point on one thing that will make up the difference. For one thing the teams attitude needs adjusting. They believe the hype and aren't working hard. I'm a form believer of playing the guys that want to play. If rather lose with Bazemore on the court busting his ass off than Curry and Klay playing half assed.
I look at this team and their body language shows they don't give a F. They're too careless on the court.

Lets Go Baron Davis...i dont care what jersey you put on. Lets go.
Big Smooth is focused and ready to handle the centers of the league.
Curry and Ellis will be a top 5 back court this season. 6/25/2010

I think he must be injured. He doesn't have the lift he did to start the season and his shot is a mess.

Another thing to note is that nobody is stepping up. With the injuries we have endured there are opportunities.

Part of me thinks he can't be traded, too much money for too many years but then again Rudy Gay was traded with more money per year in one less year with a much more questioned attitude and reputation so maybe some poorly run team like the Bucks or the Cavs would take a run at him.

David Lee seems like an intelligent human being, I don't understand how defensive rotations are like chemical engineering to him. He gets lost on every other defensive series

Re: Get rid of David Lee
^^^^Yea lost and also at a physical disadvantage. Lee is not long with a huge wingspan that good weak side shot blockers seem to have. Lee could be in perfect position to help out and still not have an impact on the play with how athletic, fast and savvy NBA players are. Lee's body is perfectly suited for his offensive game which gives him the quickness advantage over other 4's. But then those same things hurt him defensively. Like a T-Rex playing D.

David Lee is a turd. Just a turd out there...running around.
And no one wants to pick up a turd...especially a big, floppy, white one. It's gonna take too big of a fresh-scented plastic turd bag.

That is what is really weird. Coming into this season, Lee looked to be in the best physical shape I'd ever seen him in, including in his NYK days. Then suddenly, and right around the time Iggy goes down, he looks a step slow, a touch soft and is hanging out below the rim. I don't get it. Of course he could be battling some nagging thing or other, but he look SO GOOD coming into the season. As a career long David Lee scorner, I was totally in his corner for this season. He looked to have done some work on his body and I really had hoped that playing lighter and leaner could have helped his defensive rotations and lateral quickness. We are not seeing those kinds of results.

Less contract years, younger, more potential, more athleticism, Rudy is a good defender, SF is thin, PF is deepest position in NBA, Kings were desperate .......
No one is taking David Lee

Agreed...but man, all the weak takes to the hoop are maddening. I swear it makes me want to pile drive a small rodent.

Meyers is good, but I think his Bogut extension and 3-year deal for Speights have shown obvious chinks in his armour. Masai on the other hand is a God. We can't get rid of Lee, that guy got rid of Gay and Bargnani in a 6 month period.

Re: Get rid of David Lee
Not to mention Masai usually comes out on top in most of his trades and his propensity to draft well especially given his draft positions. I also give him due credit for the Lawson pick which I believe was a pick from their analytics department the Masai was a big part of at the time. Only mistake I'd credit him with is extending McGee.
Myers has been above average so far. He was a major factor in the trade for Bogut which was a good move. The Jack trade was good. Iguodala trade was a risky move but I liked it. He was probably one of the best fits for us in the NBA and one if the only attainable ones and the contract is at least solid. In free agency his ability to get Landry was a good move. O'Neal was a great signing. Speights was a bad signing but he's having a really bad year and the front office probably thought he could thrive with guys like curry and Klay helping space the floor. Lee and Landry played a lot of pick and pop and Speights was actually a very solid mid-range shooter. Douglass was a decent signing but not sure about the fit. Draft wise I give the credit of the Klay pick to West. The Barnes pick was good considering the need for a SF but Drummond and Henson would have also been picks that would have been good now and in the future. I understand why they passed on each though given concerns over Drunmonds terrible college play and bad experience with skinny PFs in Wright and Randolph. Ezeli and Green were great picks and Nedo is too early to judge. Contract wise he's signed guys for market value or below for the most part with good health. Overall I'd say the brain trust running our FO is doing a solid job.

Re: Get rid of David Lee
It is lame to say that we won without Lee in the playoff last year. We had other players that contributed the win. It's not because of Lee. Lamo I must say. Why did we lose in the playoff without him anyway? yeah?
It's easy to sit here and say "I want him on my team" "I want A to repalce him" yadeya... Well, then go out there and make them come here. Geez LOL... easy say than done eh?
Lee is not just the problem...Warriors has a lot of issues with every players. I would trade them all since all of them are playing like crap.
I do hope that Lee has a personal issue that he sits for the rest of the season. I want to see how well Warriors do without him with the current roster
hahaha.
