I doubt Houston can command so much from other teams, when it's widely know that houston has the problem here with personnel. It's not like Asik is not toxic over in houston. he is. So with that in mind, every orginization is thinking, why should they give up Premium value for a disgruntled player. It's Houston that needs this trade done more than anyone else, because of the problems he's creating for the team and their moral. it's clearly thwarting the team at this point in the clubhouse, on the court, in practice, etc, etc

Like last year, before Dwight gets to houston. Asik is like an automatic double double with tremendous defense. So in that case last year, you give up a jeff green for an omir asik. not now. That's crazy. I personally think it's Houston's front office who is floating those names out there like Green, 2 first rounders, Paul Mislap, etc. Because they have to make it look like Asiks trade value hasn't plummited because he's unhappy. the truth is, it has plummited and they're stuck with the reality.

LOL

He should be jailed if that deal lands him Asik.

He probably already should be jailed for how he stole Crawford.

Still on a life sentence for KG.

LOL. Good point.

Ok, let's say that Jeff Green is on the table. Who, in addition to Asik, would have to come back to Boston for Ainge to decide that it was a fair trade? Waiters? Jarrett Jack? Bennett?

Based on ddb inside info yesterday the highest chance is:

Young, Brooks to HOU
Asik to BOS
Hump, 1 rounder to PHI

Steve Bulpett, the Celtics beat writer from the Herald (and in my opinion, the most plugged in of all the beat writers in Boston) had this update just now:

Somewhat of a hilarious update, "I haven't heard anything, but that could change with one phone call."

Don't really see Jack coming back. He is a relatively older player with a big contract. I also don't think Cleveland gives up on Bennett so quickly. Waiters I just don't see happening.

Meh, I'm not sad, as this likely entails that Houston is still asking for too much.

Getting both Waiters & Asik for Jeff is more than fair for Boston. It's probably more than Jeff is worth so it's a realistic Danny trade.

You're probably right, but from my POV Ainge is dealing from a position of strength and thus won't be giving in to HOU's demands no matter what. The sad trombone comes out because it appears we weren't able to get Asik for little more than a late 1st rounder.

Yeah except Waiters wants to go to Philly. It's not necessarily like Waiters has much of a choice in the matter because he doesn't have a no-trade clause, but I don't really want a to get a player who is going to be disgruntled because he'll be battling for minutes at the 2-guard spot.

Well, for now. It's public knowledge that Houston is going to trade him, so they aren't really going to get what they want. It's either they deal him for a lowball offer or hold on to him and pay him to mope on the bench all season long.

Well Waiters would be the 6th man here just like he is in Cleveland. But I highly, highly doubt Ainge could pull off Green for Asik & Waiters anyway.

Well I think one of the main reasons Waiters wants out of Cleveland is BECAUSE he's the sixth man.
