Odds of getting Memphis No. 1 in 2014
So the protection on the Memphis pick excludes picks 6-14. As luck would have it, Memphis looks like they could end up right there. With Conley and Gasol out but expected to return this season, it looks like Memphis will lose enough to be out of the playoff picture and come back to win enough games to keep them out of the lower lottery. I put our odds at getting that pick at 50/50.

That Memphis pick isnt available until 2015 at the earliest, and that's when the protection starts.
We do have their 2nd round pick this year along with Orlando's though.

Guess I can go back to putting that pick into trade packages for a small forward.
