Either that or Morey wanted our pick instead of the Clippers pick.

He's got all the leverage. No need to give them an unprotected pick based on the situation they're in. We're not in the situation, the Rockets are.
Ainge is no dummy, hence the reason our franchise is setup perfectly to run this thing back darn soon, 08' style

I wouldnt say that myself, Houston helped him from looking foolish.
Take on a guy that makes 15 million, even if his cap number is 8 million, plus trade a pick and Bass,Lee ? How is he a "G" ?
I credit him for the Nets trade, but Billy King is a gullible dude, so he was able to pull that off.
I honestly question Danny Ainges negotiation tactics, with the Clippers he settled with DJ and pick, instead of holding firm on Bledsoe, and now in hindsight the Nets offer was 1000x better then the Clipps offer, but again King is never going to win any trades.
I still like Ainge though,He does so many good things except the negotiation part, he seems weak there.

I have zero issue with giving them a pick with some type of protection.

Um, Asik is a seven-footer who grabs 11 boards and plays very good interior D. Ainge was about to get him for two role players (one who won't have a defined role here when Rondo comes back) and a late first but said "**** you" to Morey when he asked for a high pick. That, my friend, is a "G."
Also, what about the KG trade? The Ray Allen trade? The Big Baby for Bass trade? He didn't settle on anything with the Clippers.
There is ample evidence to support that Ainge is a phenomenal GM.

The real reason Ainge is a "G" is because Morey will have to either eat the guy's contract while he sulks on the bench or come crawling back when the trade deadline comes.

Well, yeah. That too.

It will be funny to watch him get offered even less than the Celtics' offer in the end.
The whole thing reeks of arrogance. "Setting your own deadline?" Works if you're dealing with 8 year-olds.
