Past few games our clippers had career games

Post#1 » by general » Thu Dec 19, 2013 6:29 pm

Since Cp scored 38pts and double digit assists and we stomped spurs now yesterday Deandre comes through with monster game and with Dudley looking good past few gàmes if we continue this do we have Reddick come off the bench? Since everything is flowing better then ever with another play maker like Crawford out there and avg 17ppg.

I've been wondering what's going to happen when Redick gets back if the team continues to look good with Crawford in the starting line-up. Redick has been a bench player for the majority of his career. If he starts 5 more games this season, he'll match his career high for starts in a season (22). In other words, I believe that he could still be a factor even wasn't starting.

Otoh, the offense was totally lethal when he was in the starting line-up. He plays very well alongside Chris and his off-ball movement is going to be a distraction for the defense that already has to keep an eye on what Blake and Paul are doing.

The team has done well with Crawford in the starting line-up, but his own numbers have dipped as well as overall bench scoring. As a starter Crawford is scoring 17.0 ppg on 32.6% shooting, 26.3% from 3 and has a TS% of 49.6%. As a reserve player, Crawford is scoring 16.0 ppg on 43.4% shooting, 34.9% from 3 and has a TS% of 55.2%. He's also averaged 10 more mpg as a starter. So far it's worked for us in the win column, but I think we would just have to really see how we are playing when Redick comes back. Crawford is a vast improvement over starting Green, but his numbers haven't touched Redick's. Unless he is able to truly improve his efficiency, then I'd probably go back to Redick once he got back into game shape.

I would go back to Redick starting, but I think Crawford-Redick is the first sub. Redick can then start the 2nd quarter with either Collison and Dudley or a Collison/Crawford/Dudley/Jackson mix.

I expect Doc to slowly work him back into the rotation full time, but I think he would give our bench a boost, especially considering he excelled as a ball handler and creator in Orlando the last two seasons.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

I think Redick would be good as a starter and off the bench. Redick in my opinion is better with the starting unit since he is better off the ball than Crawford and a better shooter. However, Redick works better with Collison too. When Collison plays with Crawford he just gives the ball to Crawford and looks pretty ineffective.

Dudley hears those SJax footsteps. He's been stepping up ever since his little twitter confessional. Starting JC was a brilliant decision and I think it should stay that way even after JJ's return.

The wired thing is the defense the team has been playing since Crawford went to the starting lineup. I know Crawford isn't much of a defender but maybe somehow his presence has a difference. The bench has looked great as well. Mike Smith and Don McClean keep raving about how well Collison is doing without playing next to Crawford. There seems to be some truth to it. His strengths are trumped by Crawford but he is effective with the ball in his hands. Reddick would be a much better fit next to Collison IMO. Not that I would base my Starting lineup based on who plays better with the back up PG. As well as Reddick played the team hasn't looked better than the last 3 games. If the team is still playing like that I would bring Reddick back to the bench and then consider making a change down the line.

A light switch has gone off in Blake Griffin's head and I think he'll be having quite a few career games from here on out.
