I usually do, but seeing Bayern win the CL again would just be too much, so I'm rooting for the 4 german teams + whoever can stop Bayern.

I would actually love to see them winning it again. That would make them the first team to win the CL twice in a row. History in the making.

True I cannot deny that with Drogba all things are possible. but I don't expect Chelsea to have any trouble against them...................unless of course there is a blizzard.

Barca and Man City will be good. I expect us to win if we play with our potential.
Real Madrid is going to spank Shalke. Ronaldo is in a tear right now.

Not sure why bossman was so giddy about getting Chelsea, while they are not the best team from pot 1, they still have a coach that knows how to win cl and difference makers, there is about 10 percent chance gala qualifies. Too bad wasnt united, would have a legit chance against them

Whilst I doubt we'll be able to straight up steamroll Schalke when they've got a good amount of talent on their squad, I'm surprised people earlier in the thread really think Madrid will be worried about their record against German teams. I mean, a couple years ago Lyon and Marseille were teams that we hated playing against, and now pretty much no one remembers that.
Really stoked to see Barca-City. The midfield and attacking quality of both teams is stellar so I think the better defense will win the tie. Don't think Pellegrini's had enough time with his team to eliminate a squad like Barca, but if their match against Bayern was anything to go by it will be a fantastic match up.
Also, I feel like the Milan-Atleti game will be a really open one. Atleti have got a stronger midfield so I think I'd give them the edge but Milan always make a game of it.

If Mitroglou is healthy and in form I think we have a great shot of knocking off Man U.

I keep forgetting that guy exists. He hasn't even tantalized us with a string of 5 or 6 excellent performances before he breaks down, at least Abou Diaby gives us that.
Diaby is due back around the time of all these tough fixtures. Abou will win us the league! It is destiny

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
So what's the excuse for the game in Turin then? 2-2 there. It was possible for us to win for sure if Amrabat used his brain and didn't commit a foul out of nowhere. Then in Istanbul, the pitch was same to the both teams. It wasn't like we played in Old Trafford field and you guys played in Istanbul. We scored and we qualified.
Instead of blaming the pitch, blame whole squad and coaching decisions by Conte for why you guys couldn't beat anyone else except Copenhagen once.
I like the draw. I think it is 51-49 for Chelsea. But this is Galatasaray. You never know.

...where do you see anything about Juventus in that post?
However, I have been posting in this thread and even others about how Juve has no one to blame but themselves.
None of that has anything to do with the fact that I think Chelsea will beat Galatasaray.
With that being said, Juve out shot Copenhagen in the 1-1 draw: 27(11on goal) to 9(2on goal). the next game they out shot Gala in the 2-2 draw: 26(5) to 7(4). Juve missed ridiculous chances, so I think that they were unlucky not to win those. They were unlucky to have to play in terrible conditions the second game, and were unlucky not to draw. They were unlucky that Chiellini got a straight red card for a soft foul when they lost 2-1 to Real. Very unlucky group stage...but yes, as i've been saying, still their own fault.

wenger rallying for UEFA to ditch the away goal rule. What do you guys think?
IMO I think what he's saying is spot on. I don't like the rule I think the playing field is already level when you play 1 game at home and another away , dont need away goals. It's just too powerful.

Re: 2013
The away rule kinda has the purpose to decide ties within 180 minutes. Two same results are relatively unlikely. So the away rule limits the extra time games to a minimum.
I mean how are you going to be competitive in your domestic league if you had a 120 min game on Wednesday?
You also need to consider that not every CL team is 22 players deep and can afford resting their starters in the league.
I agree that it's kinda crap to be beaten because you scored less away goals. However, I don't think it's the right solution to get rid of the away goal rule because it will lead to a lot more injuries.

The away goal rule was also put in place to improve the quality of play. Without this rule, the away team would just park the bus in hopes for a draw knowing that they can get the win at home. This used to happen all the damn time in Copa Libertadores. This rule gives teams the incentive to attack and be aggressive. I think it's a good rule.

Agreed. Keep the away goal rule.
Man U might get a bit of luck. UEFA trying to tag Olympiakos with a partial fan ban which is bull.
