Ainge selling high:

• Celtics guard Jordan Crawford is available, according to multiple league sources, and Miami is one team that would like to nab him in a deal. But don't rule out Sacramento, Toronto and New York, said one NBA executive.

Smart move. Sell high before you have to commit MLE type of $ to him. Hope he's gone before we play there on Saturday!

Nick Young wasn't mismanaged. He is playing in LA pretty much like he played with us over his last 2 seasons (his efficiency is up slightly because he is a backup being defended by backups). And he was better with us than he was with the Clippers and Philly.

I don't think Blatche was really mismanaged either. Blatche is a lazy bum who had to hit rock bottom before he got it together. And even then, he only strung together one good season. This year, he looks like the same old Blatche who played with us: lots of shots, mediocre efficiency. His ORtg is 102.

Crawford is definitely playing better now that he is not a Wizard. Maybe he was mismanaged, but there were other issues at play.

Perhaps I should have used green font. I was been facetious about these guys being mismanaged.

What we got back ?

Crawford. Na da. Expiring knee injury.
Nick was part of the Nene deal I believe. McGee I think was the other part so we got something there.
Blatche. We are still paying him. And he gets another $8,471,339 next year.

But nate, we would have won a championship by now with Blatche, Crawford, McGee and Young. Please do not bring numbers, logic or player behavior into this argument. It is most unwelcomed.

Not to worry. We have you to not bring those things. Nate is free of that burden.

Off of the Knicks board - just too funny

Jordan Crawford is like a mixture of dog dung and cow dung with a sprinkle of donkey dung. One of the dumbest players in NBA history.

Only one dumber right now would be Nick Young.

“I would have. The reason I wasn’t as comfortable with it as I should be is because we weren’t a good team,” he said. “I was thinking, ‘Are we a good team? Are we fighting for something?”

Basically admitted that he wasn't professional. And should have taken the role off the bench. The good news is that he understands this and will probably be able to transition to that position when Rondo comes back.

Guess he is growing up.

What a difference it makes when you have solid management and coaches, Crawford and Stephenson's are good examples of this.

Wall really got on Crawford late in the game.

Other then those two late turnovers, Crawford was one more made 3 away from a nice line. 11 total shots in 33 minutes. That's about what I expected from him. He wasn't going to make it a one on one show against Wall.

http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?id=400489266

Wall looked like ass the first half, but he picked it up and ended up with a nice line. Mostly from his defense.

As for what Crawford said. I have zero problem with it. Of course that is what he was thinking. That's no secret. And I don't blame him. And all he said was... its made it more difficult... Which of course it did.

It's interesting how being discarded by a team and being confronted with the prospect of being out of the league entirely can make guys more mature and more receptive to coaching.

Not sure how much was maturity- although perhaps it played a role. Crawford wasn't doing that much with Doc Rivers either- who also happens to be an ex-teammate of Randy Wittman. I think using Crawford came out of desperation (Rondo's injury) and more opportunity for Crawford. It will be interesting to see though if Crawford can keep up this productivity playing off the bench once Rondo returns.

Wittman hasn't always gotten the most of certain kind of guys both in Minnesota and Washington. Still, guys like Wall and Beal can develop not to mention guys like Webster and Ariza have played better within this system.

I think there are two pieces to this system, offensive and defensive. And on this team and in this system, defense is the priority. So all around players like Webster will thrive but especially defensive minded players like Ariza. Also, players that don't turnover the ball or take bad shots are rewarded.

When Crawford was here, his A/TO rate was not good, he took bad shots and his D was less than stellar.

To his credit, with his back up against the wall - he has taken advantage of his opportunity. And he has gone public (probably to let Stevens know) that he knows he made a mistake in Washington and won't make the same mistake when he goes to Boston.

From the available PG, people wanted Beno. Would you rather have Beno or Crawford ?

I think many wanted Nate Robinson as well. Since, Crawford didn't do well coming off the bench it would be a moot point, right?

Nate didn't want to come here so that is a moot point. And if you check the numbers, an easy case can be made that Crawford is producing better at PG.

FG%, ORtg, WS, FT%, USG, AST%, AST, TOV, TS, PER. Pretty much across the board.

Crawford actually did do well coming off the bench so you wrong there. He also did well as the starting PG and the starting SG. What he never got a steady chance at was PG with Wall out or back up PG with him in.

And he got better year over year for several years.

The team not doing better last year had to do with Nene and Beal being out. Same thing we are seeing this year. Only difference is we have Maynor and Temple backing up Wall instead of Crawford and Temple.

I'd take the later.

We didn't chase Robinson like we chased Maynor and Robinson never said he didn't want to be here.

Crawford made it clear he didn't want to be here (felt that he should have been starting over Beal and Wall - and this is in writing) and forced his way out.

Hence I would take the former over the impossible other.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Wizards didn't go after Robinson because he has a reputation of being a headcase and rightly or wrongly, they want to build a team without the knucklehead factor.

They offered Robinson a minimum salary contract. It was all they had left after using the BAE on Maynor and the MLE on Webster. Robinson took the BAE to play for Denver.

Then the Wizards are kind of dumb....
