I asked the Bulls board if they would be open to Deng/Noah for Okafor/Green/Len/2 2014 1sts. Some seem to believe that now is the time to blow it up and add future assets, and if trading Deng, might as well trade off Noah and just start the rebuild. If we could get Noah for Green/Len/1st i'd do it.

Bledsoe/Dragic/Deng/Frye/Noah Goodwin/Tucker/Morris/Morris/Plumlee

Man... they had a 5 game win streak then went 4 and 13. They are bad already. If they keep it up, and there is no reason to think otherwise, they can keep Noah AND still get a good lotto.

They are ripe for picking though. Deng is certain to go, either by trade or his own walking.... and too bad if the offers for him are lowballish.... Chi has absolutely ZERO leverage in this swap. Stealing Noah in a package with Deng would/could be a GM of the yr move, but I would imagine they'd want more than picks. Would hate to lose Plumlee and AGoody but no tears for gimpy Len packing his walking boot. Too bad he can't be showcased some for a deal. But I keep the Plum and the Goods.

Deng alone ???? don't think he makes that much difference. Would rather pursue WChandler. And even then, :dontknow: Likely a third team will come into play.

I would give up anything and everything except Bledsoe, Dragic, Plumlee, and Goodwin for the guy.

Maybe something like this?

CHI IN:
Okafor
Perkins
Suns 2014 1st
Minn 2014 First (From Suns)
Alex Len

PHX IN:
Ibaka
PJ3
OKC 1st
Thabeet

OKC IN:
Boozer
Noah

Plumlee/Thabeet
Ibaka/Markieff/PJ3
Tucker/Marcus
Dragic/Green/Goodwin
Bledsoe/Smith

We now have a huge athletic frontcourt, with shot blocking presences at both PF and C. Ibaka can hit the midrange jumper with ease, and has 3 point range. Also he can run the pick and roll. Surrounding them with shooters, and still with a whole bunch of capspace, we would be contending very soon IMO.

Deng isn't going anywhere. The only move Chicago will make is trying to move Boozer for expirings. Ibaka isn't going anywhere either. Raptors aren't giving up Amir Johnson for Evan turner either when they have Ross/DeRozan. The most likely trade partners in any scenario with PHX are Orlando,76ers and Denver.

Suns NEEDED a competent GM. Now they have one with McGod. Stand pat, let this team roll and try to earn a first appearance in PO for most of the young guns. The chemistry isn't far from being perfect right now. We really don't need to rush things, remember we're rebuilding right? So, I don't see the point to get a quick fix (Deng, really? 30-ish player who hasn't and won't be a superstar and has a high price tag? No thanks).

Quit the trade machine, enjoy the ride and let Ryan taking care of business should be our unanimous goal. If he can pull off a major trade to get a superstar I'm sure he'll do it. For the first time in ages, Suns don't need anything.

OKC picked Ibaka over Harden. They're going to let him go to?

Ibaka is not the monster post defender many believe. Just saying.

Ibaka is nice but he would cost fortune, imo.

There are some interesting PF`s in the mid to late draft range who could do very good in our system: Noah Vonleh, Adreian Payne, to name a few...

Luol Deng is clearly a premium role player but I am not sure I`d give him 15 mil per season. I`d rather take a chance at some of stud SF talents like James Young, Jerami Grant, Rodney Hood... at least one of them should be available with a mid first rounder.

Next year, Phoenix should be an awesome destination for vets looking for a chance at a ring.

Curious what people think about making a run at Dirk in the off-season? We should have the money to make a decent offer. PF is one of the spots we need help with. He is a player I think can stretch his career because of his shooting ability (50/40/90) and he doesn't take a lot of body abuse because of his fade away jumpers.

Bledsoe/Goodwin/1st Rounder
Dragic/Green/1st Rounder
Tucker/Morris/1st Rounder
Dirk/Morris/1st Rounder
Plumlee/Frye/Len

Plenty of rookies to carry the bags

Not sure if he can be convinced to walk away from Cuban and the Mavs.

-------

Another option is Bosh if he opts out of his contract with the Heat. Historically he has been a decent rebounder except he is being played out of position in Miami. He's younger than Dirk but not quite as good from the three point line. His game would still translate well to the current Suns style, he is a better than average defender, and probably would defer to Bledsoe/Dragic being the number one/two options.

-----

Guessing there will be alot of no ways on these two guys but right now what other free agents options are out there for us?? Also both bring the championship ring to the equation which should help motivate all the youngsters we have.

If he wants to defer to 2 other players, why not stay in Miami with Wade and James?

I would love me some Dirk, but there is absolutely no incentive for him to come play with us. I don't see us being a legitimate title contender next year because our players still need a couple years before they hit their peak. Maybe after the 2014/15 season we could get Nash AND Dirk for veteran's minimum and make a serious run at a title.

Because Miami can't afford to pay all three unless they are willing to take pay cuts. Wade is getting older (32yr old in January) and who knows where LeBron is headed? What sucks is if they decide to opt out and then reset their salaries with Miami picking up another superstar in the process.

LeBron $14M
Wade $14M
Bosh $12M
Melo $12M

So assume we continue on the winning course we have this year ... adding Dirk doesn't make us a contender?? We are playing teams like the Spurs, OKC, and Heat extremely close until the fourth quarter. Our offense tightens up a little and we lose by a few points. He is still one of the top 3 PF's in the league and arguably the best offensive PF in the league. We don't need Nash but Dirk has at least 3 pretty good years left in him.

Love makes us better than Ibaka would. Not even close IMO.

Bosh $12M

That would be a terrible team. Melo would be taking shots away from Wade (career high 54.1FG%), Bosh (52FG%) and Lebron (60FG%!!!). If they have $12m to spend, they'd bring in more help.

I have to agree with DirtyDez

Right now we need a guy who can be a lone scoring threat on our front line while giving us at least passable defense. Ibaka would give us elite defense but we'd still be missing a scorer who isn't a guard. Every single championship team has had a legit scoring big man threat. Love isn't a good man defender but he's good enough to grab 12-14rpg which makes his defense passable. Dirk is an option there but I'd much prefer someone younger who can still give us the points plus the defense or rebounding. I still don't think Dirk is leaving Dallas but.

Ibaka is not an elite defender. He is absolutely elite shotblocker, tho.

On the othre hand, Love is an obscenely bad post defender. But he is the best rebounder and a hell of an offensive player.
