Re: Dante Exum Thread
He is clearly a SG, he likes to comeout of screens, he is way better at creating for himself, and he is not going to be a good defender as a PG in the league, he's quick and long, but no strong, SGs at the next level are more specialist, he can handle them, but the elite PGs in the game? I can't see that.
Exum is a ball dominant SG, like most of the star projects in that positions, you just put him along a good defender/shooting PG, alla prime Hinrich, and that's the best scenario for him.
Actually, the best PG prospect in this class is clearly Jahii Carson.

Damn. I think it would be sick to have a guy with his tools at PG, a la Michael Carter-Williams. I'd try him out at PG to see if he can.

Re: Dante Exum Thread
I don't see the point on doing that at all, and Exum is way better as a prospect than Carter-Williams.
It's difficult to win anything with a big time PG or at least a classic PG, it's way easier with a wing.
And Carter-Williams looks like a combo to me, I don't trust him as a playmaker and decision maker, maybe part time.

I know you didn't like him throughout the draft process, but how can you still be questioning MCW's playmaking abilities? The difference between the 76ers with and without him is night and day. MCW is a true PG, and he's the only guy that's even close to being a true PG on that team.
Regarding Exum, I agree that he's an absolute stud of a prospect. I wish we could see a little bit more of him, because I can't really tell if his left-hand is weak or if he's just got some really strange ball-handling tendencies, and his shot is still a project IMO, but you can't teach the crossover and first step that he has. He's my #4 guy in the draft right now and I don't see any way he falls out of the top 5.

You might get your wish. He seems like the kind of guy who could forgo the 2014 draft and go to college. He has talked about it prior and does have visits schedualed.

That'll be good, neither is a PG but both can do a little bit of everything.
Anyway, If I'm Orlando, I will try to draft Randle at all costs, is the best fit for them, they need a guy like him.

Re: Dante Exum Thread
Well it's conceivable that if he comes out now, he ends up dropping to 10 or 11 - and it's conceivable that in 2015 if he played great in college he could have 1 or 2 potential. So going in 2014 isn't a no brainer, but it's probably the right decision. How Shabazz would've gone top 3 if he had been ineligible last year, is an example of the mystery box working in Exum's favor

Forget the jumpshot, he desperately needs to work on that off-hand.

Re: Dante Exum Thread
at least his shot looks a little better in that recent footage. he still has a pretty deliberate set up and he hardly gets any elevation, but at least he's getting more air under the ball. it looks like a softer shot.

LOL why would you question his athleticism? you must think because he doesn't jump as high as gerald green he's a bad athlete. The guy has one of the quickest first steps ever and his end to end speed and lateral movement is ridiculous.

Speed, first step explosiveness, length, getting off the floor quickly without having to gather himself (which is much more important than how high he jumps), the high BBIQ, the great work ethic his teammates say he has... I don't know how you defend him as his jump shot improves. He's a top 4 player in this draft. I have him down at 4 right now only because there's not enough data on him.
Is he going to college for the next semester?

He's a kid. You gotta project what he will be able to do instead of focusing what he can't do right now.

As someone with a complete lack of confidence in the AIS developing decent guards I think he would benefit from a few years in College.

I watched that game against Spain, great offensive moves, but his James Harden impression on defense bugged me. Does he normally have no idea of anything that's happening on defense other than where the ball is or was that a one-time thing? It could be corrected, but that still bugged me.

Go to college just so he can move up 2 spots? It's not very smart. No pun intended.
