i blame Kobe on his miserable return.
He could have been the final nail on the coffin.

Unbelievable Victory. Though I think some vegas bookies payed off the Refs to have us win.
Those are some big pay odds if the Raps beat the #2 team. And it is most plausible and reasonable explanation.

The raps will lose to Spurs and the tank will be back in progress

Tank is done. Funny thing is, I called it. I said before the game in the game thread, Raptors win this one. They play like it's game 7 of the NBA Finals every night, and teams just don't get up to play them. Whatever, let them have their first round playoff fun. We're going to be back here, square one in two years wondering if we should blow it up or keep it going again when people finally realize this talent has reached it's limit. But wait, trades and free agent signings we can improve our team that way? What star can we trade for or sign? We're on a collision course for a Derozan led team surrounded with a bunch of high end role players. It's horrible. And we're screwing our draft opportunities to find BETTER players to put alongside Demar by going for short term fun. Its like people forget what the hell happened 7 years ago and want to keep repeating the same thing over again just because they are bored. It sucks. Anyways, end rant. I'm done complaining, for real this time. I'll just sit back and watch this disaster unfold.

This win against OKC is incredible for the tank.
Now all these teams will be gunning to beat the Raptors and teams won't take us lightly.
It will be almost impossible to win another game as team will put up their best against us.

Yes we can, so why kill our odds to get "lucky" in the draft by lowering our draft standing? For some playoff fun that will last maybe two years at most, makes no sense to me.

So many tWo members are jumping off and joining #teamtreadmill

Disappointing. We just lost to the Bobcats 3 games ago and all it takes is a mini 2 game winning streak to break your resolve? I still believe in tWo brother, Masai will do what it takes to make sure we end up in the high lottery. We probably won't get a top 3 worst record, but all we need to do is finish 4th-6th and pray the lotto gods are on our side (I'd be fine with any of the top 6 anyways).

After 17 years I'm on the brink of no longer caring which is sad. You can only be frustrated for so long. The only time this team had legitimate franchise quality talent was with drafting Carter and Bosh. And that only happened because the team was only in existence for a few years and had a top 5 pick by default and in Bosh's case the team went through a historic injury plagued season.

It is what it is. The team will end up with a late lotto/mid 1st round pick that will end up being a role player and probably suck really bad next season only because the draft doesn't matter and other teams won't bother. Gotta give props to other franchises like Utah, Milwaukee, and Sixers. They took care of business in the offseason for preparation towards the best draft in the last 10 years. Especially Philly who traded away their only all star.

But at least Masai went through his "Evaluation process." Kudos

Makes the two of us. Frankly, i am disgusted with this organization. Why Masai did not get rid of Lowry and even guys like Amir in the off-season is beyond me. The treadmill continues. I am sick of cheering for this treadmill- the one F'n Year when the entire fanbase was willing to suffer and endure a terrible season in one of the best draft classes in years-this team is winning games in the worst pathetic conference i have ever seen. All of us hoping for a top pick to steer this organization for years to come, will have to endure more of the treadmill. All you anti-tankers that criticized me a couple of days ago and said i was not a real fan- enjoy your 8th and 9th place finish and look forward to your 14th pick in the 2014 draft. I have had it with Masai and his evaluation process. Some things never change and the reason why this organization has one playoff victory in the past 18 years, and one of the most mediocre NBA organizations this past 18 years. Good for Milwaukee, Utah and others for doing what was necessary in the off-season. They will be rewarded with studs while this organization will treadmill on with their mid-late lotto picks like Michael Bradley, Chris Jeffries, and other guys they drafted in the past. TWO is done since Masai was never serious about it from the start.

Lol calm down people. When the Knicks give us there draft picks for the next 100 years after OKC beats NY, you guys will be happy with the win tonight.

For the record we lost to the Bobcats who are the 4th best defensive team in the NBA and there coach was mentored by Jeff Van Gundy. Furthermore we lost to a game winning shot.

We have what looks to be an extremely intelligent GM who has made a couple of very good trades early on in his tenure and all you guys can think about is the notion that if we don't tank, we are a treadmill team.

I am excited for the potential of this franchise given the current state of management, tank or no tank. Good franchises have good management.

God I wish for a second we were in the Western Conference so some posters would get a clue that there's nothing exciting about being an under .500 team

Boohoo...we never get a good pick....we always treadmill.....nobody wants to play here....boohoo we are not the worst team...waaaaaaaa!!!

Whiners

The tank never existed...we hired a new GM, his first move was not to tank but to try and build a good base and correct the cap situation. Sounds good to me. As Masai said, be patient. We have had too many years of bad management, living in a dream world...this management seems to be working methodically towards an end game. I have waited almost 20 years, a few more wont hurt.

I don't know why some fans are so excited about making it to the playoffs and seeing the team eliminated in the first round. Maybe they haven't been following the team long enough to have seen that happen before.

Maybe when teams like the the Bucks or 76ers rebuild and get better than the Raptors after a few years they will look back and think that tanking may have been the right move in 2013.

Truer words have never been spoken, brother. It's crazy how much people glorify a 1st round ass kicking. Newsflash kids, losing to Orlando and New Jersey wasn't much fun the last time they made the playoffs. This year would be even worse, as they probably wouldn't even win a game, jack.

Return to Toronto Raptors
