Exactly. I think the combination of Cheeks and Billups is a great idea for Jennings, Stuck, KCP. Never had an expectation that Chauncey would be more than a mentor. His play has only really hurt us a few times. Should never be on the floor with Bynum, but then I think Bynum should just never be on the floor.

Nonsense, Detroit signed and started him... You don't start players for their vet leadership.

Absolute trash.

Him and Bynum are probably the two worst back up PG in the league.
How about a little respect. Billups is not "trash" he's just getting to old to play the position, and its time to hang em' up.

He's trash.

I agree Chauncey needs to be on a minute limit. I'd like to see him play ten to max 15 a night. If he plays that amount and Jennings is in foul trouble play Stuckey or Siva at the 1. Stop the Bynum minutes please!

Shows some respect dude . And who are you to scorn at anyone? To call billups trash pretty much tells me everything I need to know about you and for other posters here as well

Show some respect to the point guard who led us to a championship. He's old. What did you expect? Get outta here

Kim English had his opportunities and never really capitalized on any of them. Chauncey's leadership and mentoring is far more valuable. And he'll still hit a three or two now and then.

If given the choice you'd choose English? Is your name Damon English?

That was right after Calderon signed with the Mavericks, and we hadn't acquired Jennings yet. I think the plan at the time was to roll out with Billups as a starter so that Knight can stay at SG (IMO his true position, BK can score but he's a mediocre point guard).

I think his veteran leadership is sorely needed. At the end of games, I trust Billups and his clutchness to handle late game pressure better than Jennings, and definitely more than Bynum.

Chauncey just has no explosiveness or quickness left. Sometimes he makes a very believable fake and attempts to drive past his guy, but he's just too slow to do it. Because of that, he's pretty much had to rely on just shooting threes.

In any case, he's still a voice out of the floor as far as helping the young guys and directing people. I still think he should back up Jennings for 10-12 mins, but as PG only. Him and Jennings/Bynum/Siva shouldn't be on the floor together.
