Spo knows that Beasley is an important piece of this team and wasn't going to rush him back. What was surprising yesterday was Spo's trust in Beasley on Defense. Beasley has really stepped up this year. Last night's game with LeBron on Bench, Beasley came in and gave us a spark and keep the offense going.

This year; 17mpg 11ppg 4.7rbs on 50% from 3pt and 52% overall.

Per 36 minutes he's averaging 23 points, 9 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block, while shooting 54% from the field, and 53% from 3. So, that means he's averaging much better shooting percentages than either Russell or Love (his competition) while posting similar bulk stats (pts, reb, etc...).

Now looking back at my post, I stated he was more efficient (his %s clearly show this) and a better offensive/defensive balance (if you think either Russell or Love is a better defender then you're missing something) in the time he's been on the floor. I understand that you're trying really hard to compliment him, which is nice, but it's always good to stay realistic and not sound like a complete homer. You can dance around the wording but to suggest he's contributing more then all of this list :

He's playing limited minutes in a limited role, meaning the room for error for him is significantly smaller than it is for many other players in his draft class and he can play extremely hard in his limited amount of minutes, knowing he'll have plenty of rest. Thus, what you perceive as great, is merely a result of his role on a great team with several superstar teammates.

That's correct. I didn't mention in my statement that I thought he was an all star or should be on an all nba team. I merely commented on how efficient he was compared to his draft class. Whether it comes in limited minutes or not. Whether he's on a very talented team or not. I'm not holding that against him.

Apparently this is a very controversial topic, because stating the facts on how well he is playing is somehow being a homer or exaggerating Beasley's impact. Maybe subsequent posts will have to have all inclusive disclaimers about his negatives/drawbacks in order to not be misinterpreted.

The problem is the efficiency wouldn't likely hold up if he played more minutes or had less talent around him. Which are factors you're holding against other members of his draft class who do play more minutes and do have less talent around them.

It's like last year's argument people were having about Duncan deserving DPOY. On one side you had folks using stats he put up extrapolated to per 36 minutes. On the other hand, you had people arguing that if he did play an actual 36 minutes per, his numbers would drop for a variety of reasons.
