As much as people hate on Diantoni, he never had a full healthy team last year, or even this year so you cant really judge the dude, to me he has maximized the talent he is dealt with, despite horrific injuries to his main players/starters

Its unfair to blame Phil Jackson for that event. Mavs just can't die at that time.

I think everyone realizes that MDA's time has run out, but there's no point in paying him not to coach. So we'll ride him out until we have a new core to work with and then we'll get someone else.
That could theoretically happen at the deadline... If we brought in another star that either hated MDA or who's style of play didn't suit him, I think he could be gone... But probably not.

From a retirement perspective, I could see MDA retiring if Nash retires... Maybe.

I think MDA would be amazing in Golden State, Denver, or possibly OKC. I hope you are right about the deadline. That other star will likely be Melo. Wonder if Melo would agree to an opt out clause in two years after Kobe retires so he can opt out and go elsewhere as well so we can start rebuilding. People keep bashing me. But since we agreed to sign Kobe to an extension. I feel like we should go all in and try and win and focus on rebuilding after Kobe retires. I understand the Embiid obsession. But I feel we are highly unlikely to get him and any other talent in the draft is not going to help us. We shouldn't rely on the draft. We are going to shake things up soon. At least I hope. Who knows though. Jim may not care about winning or fans.

On a side Melo note. Did anyone watch the one on one interview with Ahmad Rashad. Melo says " he thinks it was smart what Bron, Wade, and Bosh did". He hinted that he may consider doing the same. I think he is talking about LAL. If we really are going to tank. Would be nice to grab Rondo for Pau, and Melo in the off-season.

Lol at Rondo for Pau ever happening. What incentive would Boston have to do that? I'm sure they would want picks if they were to trade Rondo. Also, how does Melo saying what Heats big three did was smart translate into signing with the Lakers. You do realize that our best player is a 35 year old who seems like may never be the old Kobe. We have lots of our cap tied up into Kobe so that may cripple the amount of talent we are able to surround Melo with. Anyways that aside, I am one of those that doesn't Melo anyways so I hope he stays far away from the Lakers
