Kidd says the nets are comfortable with losing. Kg says they have no identity.
I agree with both. But when Garnett says this: Well, what you have to understand is that I'm not a primary [option] here," Garnett said. "I don't have plays called for me. I'd like to say that at the end of the day, I hang my hat on the defensive end." It pissed me off. He should not act like he is the only one out there playing d and playing hard. He is part of the reason they are losing. He can't guard anyone. His effort is not as good as it was last season for Boston because he thought he would just be a role player and came into the season thinking that way. He even said that.

Re: Kidd and kg's comments after the pacers game
I think there's no on-court leader and it's starting to be exposed by HOF'ers (Kidd, KG) who know there's something rotten, but don't want to specifically call out the team's best player. Deron sulks and acts frustrated constantly. In his 4 years here I have trouble thinking of 1 player he's made better around him the way kid did in his first 5 minutes as a Net, and I certainly wouldn't say that he's ever led by example on the defensive side of the ball or by imparting a style of play.
In a system like the Spurs I have no doubt he's talented enough to be excellent as the "Tony Parker", but he's simply not a court general the way guys like Paul/Rondo are or Kidd/Nash were. This team was assembled around him, as a top PG, and he simply has not been that.
If DW was that kind of player, there's still more than enough talent around him here that he could win a round in the terrible EC and have a successful season, all things considered.

Re: Kidd and kg's comments after the pacers game
ESPN's article quoting KG's assertion of NETS lacking identity
Searching for identity - with 27 games already played - is not a good place to be. For the Nets to simply reach .500 this season, they would need to win 32 of the 55 games remaining...with a win percentage of .581 or better. Currently, their win percentage is at .333
And I thought last month was brutal...the hits just keep coming.

Garnett’s shot...boosted him to 25,000 points in his NBA career. More than that, by reaching...25,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, 5,000 assists, 1,500 steals and 1,500 blocks — Garnett joined an elite class of … ONE. Just him. That’s it - Steve Aschburner

Deron or PG leadership have to do with KG missing point blank layups. Shooting 38% overall and a career low 48% paint area defense Or Pierce being inconsistent offensive option, turnover machine and a turnstile on defense.
Deron right now is averaging 17, 10 assists this month and the team has a 120 offensive rating with him on the floor and a horrid 99 without him on the floor.
Sure, Deron can play alot better but he's been the best player on the floor since returning from his injury. Now that Brook is gone, JJ and Deron remain the most consistent productive players on the team. Everyone has been fairly consistent from Anderson, Teletovic. Yet, Pierce and KG have been consistent disappointments and not even based off stats just impact on and off the floor.
You can't make guys who look and play like scrubs look good. Pierce, KG have been awful and these guys were brought in to replace the roles of Wallace and Humphries and they are worse right now stat wise and effort wise. A PG can't change that. Seems to me these guys were a product of Doc Rivers more than people seem to realize.

Re: Kidd and kg's comments after the pacers game
KG's play has been abysmal. He should be the last one to say anything.
I totally agree with Paradise here. The fact that these two dudes have been complete **** stains so far also adds to the problem here, moreso than Deron, Joe, or anyone else.
It's crazy to me to think that we would have been better off just holding onto Wallace and Humphries than expending more assets to bring these two dudes in here. We'd probably be over 500 with the same roster we had last year!!
That part in itself is killing me. Last year's team was BETTER.

Re: Kidd and kg's comments after the pacers game
If he's concerned about the leadership of the team then he should help out. Not being a "primary option" or the star of the team is a cop out. All season all KG and a handful of other players have done is talk. Talk is cheap.

that annoyed me to no end as well....
for a guy brought in to defend and lead, he has done neither. he has been at best average on defense, a horrible leader and played with lackluster effort most of the time.
as far as kidd, is there anyone who has been more comfortable with losing then him? "you are judged when you are whole" or whatever that crap line was and has excused away loss after loss.

being the 'best' player on one of if not the worst teams in the eastern conference isnt saying much. and i dont want to hear about guys 'missing layups'. especially when dwill missed like 3 himself in that pacers game. his on off stats dont really say much either, cause our backups are trash too. great, we are better with dwill then we are tyshawn taylor

your telling me that if you put chris paul on this team we are still a horrible team 10 games under .500 getting blown out by horrible teams on a nightly basis? not a chance.
and its not just offense. how about dwill being one of the worst defenders at his postion, being completely unable to get around screens. how about his punk loser attitude and his sulking? its not just about x's and 0's. atittude and competitivenes or lack there of rub off big time as well.
dwill has had brook lopez, kg, pierce, joe johnson, blatche. thats alot of talent. he doesnt make those guys better. and its on him moreso then them
