Courtney Lee is a decent player, a solid defender with good size for the position, and he's shooting the 3 this season at typically good levels (he disappointed last year, but discovered this summer he had a hitch in his shot, and fixed it).. I don't think we'd do the Miles/Clark/Zeller/1st trade, though.. Lee is not so bad a contract that he drags down Green's value to Miles/Clark/Zeller/protected-1st. Gerald Wallace would, definitely.

What about AV or Jack?

I guess I was asking more about their availability.. I could see BOS doing Green/Lee for AV and Jack if we found a third team who liked Jarrett..

I think everyone's available to some extent. What's the modivation for you guys with that trade though? just moving lees contract or hoping for an asset off a third team?

Moving Lee, getting a center and in that case maybe getting a pick and an expiring for Jack.

NESN is claiming an Asik trade would have happened if you guys had taken Green (they're assuming for Varejao..)

I would do Green/Lee for AV/Jack at this point. Right now our second unit with Waiters is playing better than our first unit. From a FO perspective, I think the problem would be that the Cavs would be a Bynum knee injury away from starting Zeller at center and having no backup. Could we expand it with you guys getting something for your center since he obviously would go to the bench anyway with Asik coming in?

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

I'm reading the report and I didn't know green has two more years left on his deal after this season. I don't think he's overpaid but that takes away some of the things we want to do in fa in the summer

I'd trade Bennett for Green. Im the ultimate preacher of patience, but the pick has been such a pr nightmare that I'd pull the trigger and be done with him.

Like what, which max player are we going to sign? You are probably right and that is their plan, but which max type player is realistically coming here over other destinations with the max.

I actually doubt we sign anyone - but I think sh*t is gonna hit the fan in the offseason and a lot of players are going to be changing teams. I think we can snag two big pieces - which is what we need to be a contender

**Edit - just realized i said FA in my OP. I think the trade market is where we improve**

CLE/HOU/BOS would you make this trade? Waiters+Gee for...

Post#913 » by robbie84 » Wed Dec 25, 2013 7:35 am

Houston receives:
Brandon Bass
Courtney Lee
Vitor Faverani
2015 Clippers pick

Cleveland Receives:
Jeff Green
D Montejunas
Jordan Crawford OR Avery Bradley

Boston receives:
Omer Asik
Dion Waiters
Alonzo Gree

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine

*Houston gets Faverani as a cheap back up for D Howard whilst getting Lee and Bass.

*Cleveland finally gets a decent small forward in Green,
They get Avery Bradley or Crawford to play the combo guard spot like Waiters did as they make a push for the playoffs-whichever management prefers- Crawford has been very good this season, but he's excelled at the PG spot so Avery may be the better option because of his lock down D.

*Boston gets Asik to man the middle, and also get Waiters as a solid young prospect.

Pull the trigger?

Kyrie
Avery Bradley
Jeff Green
Thompson/Verajao
Bynum

Verajao, Clarke, Jack, Bennett off the bench?
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

You're not stealing Waiters.

I'm not trading waiters for anything. (well, almost anything)

It'll really f with my username.

Other than that, this guy has superstar potential (and drive/attitude), and if we trade him to the right situation, he'll end up as another one of Cleveland's mistakes that make us look stupid after he becomes one.

You can always make a new one next time you register...

But you're 100% right.

Bynum+Waiters for Deng will do wonders for this team.
In the end you are going to chose between Kyrie and Waiters, it's just that simple.
