What happened? Is he still hurt and when will he be back?

Isn't there a thread on him already?

Anyway, I'm starting to doubt he's ever back. Over a year of rehab and still no timeline? Not looking good, and when he comes back (if) that's years away from the sport.

that dunk he put down over aminu in the preseason probably set him back a couple months.

None of us really know anything, it's all guesses.

They showed him do his warm up before the LA game, he missed a shot over joel and got really upset with himself. You can take that as a positive sign or a negative one. To me it's a good one, he's expecting himself to do well, works hard, mentally hungry.

Why? Protecting the basket is the part of the game he's actually somewhat good at and the reason he got in the league.

i agree ! He is moving very well but man am i the only one holding my breath when he jumps ?

I think it will be too stressful to watch him play, yeah of course i will be excited to see him play but it will be very tough as we all want to see him succeed !

I find it hard to believe this team will through Oden into the lion's den (playoffs, especially vs. Pacers). If he will contribute this season, we'll see him maybe a month or two before hand and see how he is.

I mean this feels like the Eddy Curry situation. Everyone thought he would contribute in the playoffs and he didn't do **** and we let him walk.

This is an experiment once again. It'd be hard to crack the rotation as well, with Birdman in there who is great for us. Unless Oden starts and Bosh actually plays his natural position. Then again Shane off the bench doesn't help too much these days...

Or Birdman starts games and Oden comes off the bench. Who knows really.

I just think people need to lower their expectations on him. If he contributes for us, that's great. If not, this team was doing fine without him, though we do need a big still.

Curry wasn't a quarter of the prospect Oden is. Better personality, better defense, better player hands down.

Oh, I get it now. It's a contradiction joke. Like saying "LeBron sucks" when he misses a shot, but still shoots like 60% for the game and has a triple double. I probably didn't get it right away because it's almost 5am here :D

If we don't see him by March, then we can forget about that experiment, at least for this year

Im confident we will all see Oden after the All-Star break. Its all about taking your time with him and his knees. Not only is he strengthing his core to prevent future injury, he is also "breaking his body in" from such a long layoff from the game. The benefit to waiting with Oden is that the training staff gets to document how his knees hold up to physical activity over a long period of time. Once he does come back, they can play him an adequate amount of minutes. He looks to be in real good shape in the gif.

You also have to consider he's got a lot of basketball rust to shake off. Missing that layup over Joel is a good example. he might be ready physically for all we know, But Spo isn't going to throw him out if he's not ready basketball wise because you're risking hurting his confidence and hurting the team. 4 years without basketball is along time, it takes a while before you get your feel for the game back and feel comfortable with the ball.

He's working hard and moves well, that's the best signs he's making progress.

He's definitely not in pro form yet.

He should been sideways right when he gathered and high and away from his man, not after the gather during his shooting motion. Seals your man to your outside shoulder. When you do it after the gather, all it takes is a little nudge to throw you off balance and that's why he blew the layup. He was on the move so he should have used glass. He has to sell that left shimmy much more than that too. All in due time though. He looks better.
