GT: Charlotte Vs Oklahoma Dec 27th - 7:00pm ET

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Thu Dec 26, 2013 12:59 am

Gulp.....

The Thunder are a horrible, horrible match up for us - pretty much at every single position.

They average 106ppg and 45rpg.

I think our team goal should be to keep them under 95 points and 40 boards.

If we can do that I will be thrilled.

Thanks. You took the pressure off me of ending my game thread winning streak by doing it for this contest. This is going to be a tough out for Charlotte, but on the bright side, if they can compete with the Thunder, who are playing like the best team in the league as of late, it would be a good sign, win or lose

speaking of CDR, i know a few of you guys spoke very highly of him. he's been completely invisible so far. is he out of his depth or just having a slow start to his bobcats career?

I was one of the posters that was high on him. I'll render that he's just having a slow start. He's been solid on defense, but offensively he has been a little too timid & submissive to the opportunity which is a kind of uncharacteristic of him. We'll see, but he definitely isn't living up to the praise I heaped on him upon the signing. He's probably only practiced with the team no more than 3 times. He's trying to fit in & play within himself a little too much

I think its going to be a good, close game. Our guys actually have a chance to rest for a few days before this game which is a big plus considering we played what? 5 games in 7 or 8 days and was running on fumes before the Christmas break?

I hope the slow feet of Perkins is too lazy to run the pick-and-roll offense as the slow feet of Jefferson is too lazy to defend it. Otherwise Westbrook might score 50 on us because he'll make Kemba pay whether he run over or under the screen. I hope Clifford got his clipboard ready for this one. We're going to need a good Hendo if we plan on having any chance of pulling off this upset.

if we continue our recent trend of getting down by a lot its gonna be a long day, OKC wont let us claw ourselves back into it in the 2nd half

We're a lot bigger this time around, but I still don't think that will make much of a difference. I believe we lost by like 45 to them last year? It seemed like the team went into a tailspin after that so if we can keep the game within 15, Kemba continues his hot streak from the field and Zeller has a good showing, I'll be satisfied even if we get beat.
Mike Malone was never given a fair chance in Sacramento, and Ranadive will soon come to regret that, when he's on top of the WC inevitably contending somewhere

I think that he's not been so bad until now... Ok he was invisible in offense, but he played good defense at critical moments vs the Bucks. And the fact that he's a bit passive of offense allow the other to express themselves, and it worked pretty well until now.
I wonder what is its +/- ratio since he started playing for the Cats.

Very hard game. Kevin Durant is the best player in the NBA (at this moment) and I hope that our defense will stop him. The last match at home before we going to 5-road matches. Let's give good performance and play good as we can.

I hate +/- as a statistic. It seems too coincidental sometimes rather than the actual efficiency or efficacy of the player. I'll give CDR some time to acclimate to the team and adjust to increased minutes because if I didn't it would just be unfair to him. Defensively he seems ok, but the issue is we need a scoring wing. If he could shoot the trey ball I would feel a lot better

We will probably win this game just to spite me. The official "god is taunting me" sign will be when Zeller backs down Steven Adams and posterizes him.

As much as I'd be content with Charlotte losing this game, I can already hear Bonnell cranking out passive-aggressive tweets about the Bobcats if that happened.

So in a weird way I really do feel like we can win this game and I would enjoy it.

This team is going to give up 40 to Durant, I just know it. CDR is probably our best bet to guard him and any time that happens, you're probably losing.
