He would be complimentary playing next to a good defensive PF, like NENE or Anthony Davis.

Porter, Seraphin, and Vesely for Kanter, Gobert, and Rush (expiring). If Ariza leaves, Rush could be re-signed with Bird rights. - See more at: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=1292922#sthash.JrZ1Bxoi.dpuf

Tell your GM to call the Utah GM and ask them if they think that is a good idea.

Seraphin is strong and looks OK, Vessly sucks and would get released eventually.

Overall that is a very decent trade.....fairy close value on each side, right?

Thanks for the review of his injury issues.

So you think he will stay healthy from here ?

Watch Kanter's injury happen if you want to see something kind of gruesome:

The look on his and his teammates' faces are priceless! Look at this photo:

It's a freak injury.

I wouldn't do Kanter for Porter straight up, but I would do that trade ^ in a split second.

I really didn't care for the Porter pick, and would prefer Ariza to be resigned as the team's starting SF moving forward. I look at that deal as trading two big men prospects who have already tried and failed within our organization (and who I am tired of seeing in a Wizards uni), for two younger prospects who have more potential and possibly just need a change of scenery/a coach who won't screw with their minutes.

Gobert in particular is very intriguing. He's raw, but has freakish measurables (I recall seeing him dunk without jumping, lol) and possesses a lot of defensive potential. And still only 21. Even if he never fully reaches his potential, there's no way he's a worse player than Vesely right now.

Only if the Wizards got the Warriors' 1st round draft pick in 2014.

Huh? That pick might be in the 14-20 range. Porter probably goes 11-20 in this draft (he's not in the Wiggins, Embiid, Parker, Randle, Exum, Smart, LeVine tier; and I'd have Vonleh, Saric, Aaron Gordon, Harris above him as well).

I'm not going to give up on a guy who's barely played and was a productive college player for a guy who has problems spacing, is hurt, and isn't the same player before his injury (is this going to be a problem down the road?). If anything, we're doing Utah the favor of taking Kanter from them b/c he and Favors can't play together, and they just gave Favors big money.

I would say no simply because Porter has just started his rookie contract whereas the Wizards would have to consider giving Kanter a long term commitment in the future.

Age isn't that much of a factor considering Kanter is only a year older than Porter.
