Winning on the Road

Huh. I was watching the NBA highlights and they said they did it in 2011. Maybe they were high?

Maybe they were high, but if they were talking about the 2011-2012 season, there were three consecutive road wins toward the end of that season. The difference here is we've been taking about three consecutive wins that are on the road (uninterrupted by any home games), not three consecutive road wins (with any number of home games in between). If they win in Minnesota, that will bring the streak to four.

Jinx, we're gonna get blown out. I don't even think the luv-a-bulls can save us from this thread.

They already won these games so pretty hard to jinx something that already happened.

As for next game, we will have love-a-bulls. But I don't even think that will help. It against MIN. Then back to back against DET. Those games are projected loses to me. That was true before this thread was started.

I hope we win one or two, but not counting on it.

We have a tough stretch of games coming up. Until Fri, Jan 17 there are some challenging games.

2 win in the next 3 games would be huge for this team. Specially if Randy can figure out a winning rotation to go against big front courts. About the most I expect from him is to lose to MIN and then figure it out. Maybe we bet DET at home if he adjusts. So probably more like we go 1-2 over the next 3. Follow that up with a win against Dallas at home if Randy put Kevin S on big boy Blair.

I don't think Booker is a good match up to start against the next 4 teams. But I don't expect Randy to make any adjustment until he see it failing with his own eyes.. Again.

Like it or not, the team needs Kevin and Ves to contribute along with Nene and Gortat to beat these bigger front courts. Booker is just to undersized. Blair is just a beast. 6' 7", 270 lbs Booker is 6' 8", 235 lbs But for that, we do have a player. Kevin S. He is 6' 10", 278 Its amazing he weights that much. It doesn't look like he does.

It would be such a plus if Kevin can turn the corner and consistently play like he is a big as he is. He could be our Deshawn Blair. Same age. Even bigger. Just needs to rebound more. Come on Kevin. Flip the switch. Prime time for him to do it with Nene boxing out. Just go grab those rebounds.

Over the last 35 years, the Bullets/Wizards have a 1140-1625 (.412) record. In a league where more than half the teams make the playoffs, they have been there twelve times, only made it out of the first round twice, have a 1-8 record in round 2, and have never been a contender.

But at least they weren't jinxed.

In 1973, they beat the Blazers, Sonics, Suns, and Lakers in consecutive games, all on the road, then beat the Sixers in Hershey Pennsylvania and Sonics in College Park (when the Bullets were in Baltimore). BR has these last two as neutral sites, but you could make a case for the Sixers game being a Sixers home game. Regardless, if the Wizards beat the Wolves, it'll be the first such streak in over 30 years.

Agreed. And I wonder in how many of those instances none of the games were back to back to back and all of the games were against teams below .500. That being said, the Wizards winning on the road has been impressive lately given that is improvement of things over the past few years.

Yes. This may have been the easiest 3-game road trip in NBA history. 3 teams. No back to backs. A collective record of 30-45 (.400). And the furthest distance traveled was just 450 miles from home.
