Re: 2014 Official Suns Free Agent/Trade/Transaction Thread
I'm still unsure about Love...
Kevin Love that is...
4-5 first round picks? + Len and Goodwin???
Love is a good player but geez that's a king's ransom.
He is a 25/14 player but doesn't impact the game as his number shows.
He isn't Barkley either, Barkley was more clutch and had more impact.
Even Barkley back then didn't fetch that much assets.
And Love won't be a 25/14 under Suns system... He just won't.
He will be a Frye and Morris combined and injected with steroids... 17-20 points with 12-14 rebounds perhaps.
The suns are winning because the contribution is deep... Goes 4-5 players putting up double figure points keeping the other teams on their heels because the offense comes from multiple sources.
Love is good but a king's ransom he is not worth it... For Kevin Durant... I'll definitely pay that much... He plays both sides and can dominate any game he sets his mind to.
It a good thing McD is the GM... He won't offer that much assets... If it was Blanks... He would trade half the team with those picks... McD is the opposite.

I'd do three picks and two players or two picks and three players.
That's about it. Anything more is ridiculous for any one player.

It looks like a king's ramson, indeed, but that's exactly what Love is at this point. He is the king of the (supposedly) acquirable players, until KD becomes plausible.
Barkely didn't fetch that much in quantity, but the 76rs got an allstar in Hornacek.
As for his probable production, I don't think he'll need to give us 25/15 to make the move worth it. Having a proven star on offense will demand constant attention from defenses, needing to assign the best interior defender to Love, which would be invaluable with Dragic and Bledsoe's slashing ability. Also, Love can play both inside and outside, not to mention he is the best rebounder in the business and a very nice passer, so any corner 3pt wing would probably benefit from it. Pat Riley used to say that you can get away with not D or R, but not without both. After watching the best offense ever not being able to get it done, I believe it. Besides, an unit with Bledsoe, Goran, PJ and Miles can defend. The key would be the bench, but if you manage to keep the Morrii, Frye and Green, you may be basically set while not strangled cap wise.

Okafor, Len, 2x 2014 first rounders....maybe another future 1st if that's the clincher
NO to including Plumlee or Goodwin. Plumlee makes far too much sense next to Love...

Not a big fan of Love, I am hoping Suns can make something work with no important key players to any trades this season.

Re: 2014 Official Suns Free Agent/Trade/Transaction Thread
Love is the answer.
Good grief, I sound like a hippie.
But I don't think it should take that much to get him IF he was on the trading block. He is just not available and that is the problem.
I don't mind giving up Len plus a couple picks. I am not sure Minny really wants Len. A package that might make sense would be Markieff, Archie, and a couple of picks.

That's almost equivalent to the Wolves offering Shabazz + Shved and a couple of picks for Bledsoe or Dragic.

I'd say your offer is better.

Some of the offers being thrown around here are bonkers. Len/Goodwin + 4 1sts? WTF. Thats essentially 6 1st rounders in an age where draft picks and capspace are the 2 most valuable things a team can have (aside from LBJ/Durant). Love is a very good player, and I think his rebounding and outlet passing fit well here, but he's not worth 6 #1's.

Re: 2014 Official Suns Free Agent/Trade/Transaction Thread
Mattya thinks the Morris twins are "mediocre" assets and wouldn't help. He also doesn't seem to understand that with Love, we probably get their pick. If Love is somewhere else, then they can get their pick. Us trading their pick would probably equal 2 2nd round picks, but it would also mean they actually get a pick.
I still think a Love trade should be on draft day. Then more people will understand how good the twins are. But since the Suns are never on national TV, Mattya has no idea what he is talking about but he sure does pretend to!

Bill Simmons at Grantland suggested Len, Okafor's expiring, and our four first rounders this year. Joe House thought that was too much for Phoenix to give up (http://espn.go.com/espnradio/grantland/ ... d=10193210 start listening around the 49 minute mark).
I don't see Minny that interested in Len. The Morris twins, Okafor's expiring, and all our 2014 picks would be a high price for us, but would have to be tempting to Minny. It would still leave us with a good team. Frye would play behind Love. Green would get more burn at the 3, and Archie would pick up more minutes at the 2.

If Minny actually doesn't trade Love and let's him walk for NOTHING then it will be looked back on as one of the most idiotic front office decisions in NBA history. This isn't a Lebron in Cleveland situation where the Wolves are contending or have a chance of getting him back.
If Wolves miss playoffs and Love wants a trade, twins, LAL pick, Suns pick, IND pick, and Min pick for Love sounds fair.

Re: 2014 Official Suns Free Agent/Trade/Transaction Thread
Luol Deng is already receiving interest from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors, San Antonio Spurs, Memphis Grizzlies and Brooklyn Nets among others, according to sources.
The Bulls have reportedly decided they will try to re-sign Deng in free agency.
So.. We are not interested in Deng, i guess.

Rightfully so. Older than we should be looking at, with a lot of mileage on him, and will cost too much considering these.

Who could offer something better if Love doesnt want to resign there? Minny needs draft picks and/or players who are on a longer term contract, as they are not able to get marquee free agents.

Don't sell the farm for Love. Honestly, the Bash bros. have been just as productive at a much cheaper rate. I don't think we need a star to be a contender. We're a good sf/ c away from being one.

Didn't Mattya say that the Bulls and Thunder could offer better deals for Love? I remember him posting them and they were laughingly bad.
He is just an obvious troll. Don't feed him guys.
He should be banned from the Suns board tbh
