This is what a fan offered. In real life the rumored Cavs trade that was declined by the Wolves was Number 1 pick, Waiters, Thompson and filler. We turned that down and it looked like the right move since Love has only improved his value since then.

What the Wolves were (allegedly) turning down last summer when they thought they had a GOOD team has no bearing on what the Wolves might accept at this point when it turns out the Wolves are looking at the lotto again... and especially what they'd be looking at if/when Love asks out.

And they are still in the playoff hunt. So nothing has changed.

What will Okafor and 2 mid-first round picks get ?

So I've long been of the opinion that Atlanta are locked into mediocrity, a perpetual spiral of first round playoff exits. They are the third seed in the east this year, but I think that's more a reflection of the eastern conference as a whole, than any improvement on their part. They are also only 4 games above being out of the playoffs, and now Horford is out I think this is the best time for them to retool for next year.

Utah are terrible and look to be lottery bound yet again. They have no quality guard depth and have Hayward's contract situation looming.

ATL in: Okafor (expiring)
ATL out: Milsap, Lou Williams

ATL ditch long term salary and return next season with a prime Teague at PG, a healthy Horford and Okafor (re-signed cheap) tandem at PF/ C, and a high lottery pick/ potential game changer on the wing. Cap space to burn too.

UTA in: Lou Williams, picks from PHX
UTA out: Hayward

Gives the Jazz a high end sixth man PG/SG who can be a role model for Burke/Burks. Alleviates the Hayward problem and provides picks to replace him with rookie deal players on a more compatible timeline (traditionally, PGs and C's take longer to develop than wings, so that the 2014 wings will peak a the same time as Burke/ Kanter/ Favors).

PHX in: Hayward, Milsap
PHX out: Okafor, picks

This is the type of intricate deal I could see McD formulating. Everyone here will have their own opinions on what to do with Hayward/ Milsap (I personally would flip them in a package for a star). Perhaps MIN would value Hayward/ Milsap as better assets in a potential deal.

I applaud you for making a deal that got two guys I want the Suns to go after this year, and with a a somewhat reasonable trade request!
Paul Millsap is exactly the type of player the Suns need to plug into their PF spot, and he has a very reasonable contract. Getting Hayward might take a few more pieces (picks) than what you called for though.
The question is, who's the star of the team? And can a team who's starters are 2nd/3rd options on most other teams be a legitimate title contender?

I think you inadvertently pointed out something, at least to me. After feb/trade deadline, essentially Okafor will be worth nothing. To turn him into an asset that we retain essentially is getting something for nothing. It will likely cost a pick or two, but a deal like you outlined keeps the trade teeter tottered on the plus side.

OKafor, Plumlee, three picks for Marc Gasol. I think that's a realistic trade. They trade Gasol before he walks next summer.

Thompson isn't really that bad. He's 23 and has averaged a double-double per-36 every season. Heck, if that's "bad", I want more bad players on this team.

Well with horford out for the rest of the year now would be a good time to cherry pick milsap from the hawks.

Personally I'm still on the fence about love.. In the end I feel like he is going to strip our depth and our future assets. Going after a second tier guy like milsap/hawes both fills a need and ensures we keep our squad intact. We should be able to acquire either of those two guys with a couple of firsts.

"He doesn't want to play basketball anymore.*"

*for the Cavs. Just watch...as soon as he gets a whiff of a contender picking him up, he'll perk up again.

Why in the world would Atlanta do that? Milsapp and his contract are an ASSET not a liability. That would top the Pau Gasol trade as the biggest highway robbery. And it's not like they would trade for Okafor to sign him. If, then it would only be for the expiring. Why would they wanna gamble on a declining player that hasn't played for a year?
If I were Ferry I would hang up laughing and then call back to ask if we were willing to make an offer that both parties can benefit from.
I like the the bones of the trade though. I don't know if it would make us a contender and if the cap would allow it with resigning both Hayward and Bledsoe. I think we would have to mve some of our better picks to Atlanta to make it happen.

Also I am convinced that the Indiana pick has barely any value at all. I would rather have the first second rounder than one of the last 1st rounders.

Best thing to do is sit tight over the next two months unless a real superstar is available. Heck if the injury bug hits the suns could fall out of contention in the west and decide to be sellers at the deadline. Might as well stay flexible for now.

If Green/Goodwin can't give us positive minutes I'd think about Marcus/Was-1st for Gordy Hayward. Eliminate Green's minutes and let Archie ball-out in the D-League. Try to keep either Bledsoe or Dragic on the court at all times. Gordy can slide to SG and play with Tucker.

He’s getting double-teams, triple-teams, but he’s still playing great. Gordon to me is a very, very top-of-the-line player. I think he’s just trying to prove himself to Utah that he’s worthy of having a bigger deal," said Carroll

McD is trying to assemble a team, not a laughing stock. Of course we are not interested in him. I'd rather have Carmelo Anthony, and I really, really, really hate Carmelo Anthony.

Is there a guy in the NBA, past or present, that has been paid so much for so little? This assclown should be blackballed so he can sink into oblivion.
