Bill Simmons was saying this was all a ploy by Bynum to get to Miami or the Clippers. He has no interest in playing anywhere else but there.

For all his lack of "smarts" he sure did a good job fleecing two franchises in a row. Hate the man but he certainly isn't lacking in intelligence.

A person not having desire to play basketball and being an intelligent person is totally unrelated. Life and being happy doesn't revolve around money.

I love Bill Simmons but he is all about conspiracy theories which are wrong 99% of the time.

So he tricks Cleveland into paying him millions of dollars, then frees himself up so he can go to Miami or LA where he can be a contender, and people are saying hes stupid...?

Yeah, from the outside looking in, it sucks to see such a young player with talent 'wasting' it by having no desire to play, but remember he is the one that put in the time and effort to even get him to this point of his life, so why isn't he within his own right to make an adult decision?

People change their mind all the time, sometimes people think they know what they want and change their minds. Sometimes people to seek out careers focused on money and then realize later on in life it's not worth sacrafising other parts of their life to obtain it, so again, they decide later in life to alter their path.

The only thing wrong Bynum did is to have allowed the Cavs to invest time and money in him, but still, the Cavs should have also done their due dilliegence so it's not exactly all on Bynum either. All the other stuff is people being bitter about someone else's life which is stupid. This isn't some kid who grew up with money in his pockets and then decided to do stupid things to waste it, he put in his work to get to this stage and realized it's not for him.

It sucks as I'm a basketball fan who would have enjoyed more quality post man centers in the game, but I'm not going to go around judging other peoples life decisions, especially when they arent criminal or anything like that.

Lack of smarts? I heard and read once that he is a pretty smart dude who is into computers ... building them and stuff. I think the problem is that he doesn't really like Basketball unless he is somewhere where he has the chance to win something.

Lack of heart doesn't mean he is stupid

Okay... there's a gap between really STUPID... and too damn stupid to make $1 million when your knees are held together with duct tape.

Lots of red flags. Dumb? If you can get $10 mill just working part time and you screw that up....that's DUMB.
CENSORED... No comment.

So why didn't he sign with Miami if he wanted to be in a good situation? He simply signed for the 6/12 million ?

It still amazes me how someone can step away from the game so easily when you are given this kind of opportunity. I wish they made a documentary-interview about/with him, just talking about his life and mindset. This intrigues me so much.

For a while it looked like he got his ish together with the Cavs when he had a bunch of good games and remained healthy.

All the talent in the world and no motivation :nonono:

LOL at the people in here who think he will just go to the Heat or Clippers for the MLE. He won't. He is all about the dollars. Nothing more.

The only reason he is even in the league is because of his size. If he was a regular 6'5, 6'6 SG, he would have never even been drafted.

Why did he get 6M when he could have signed with MIA for the minimum? Really?

Why would a contending team try to sign this guy, now? He's been a cancer in every situation he's been in. Health aside, he's not worth the hassle. I think he'll be out of the NBA after this.

He wasn't a cancer in LA. He was traded for Dwight Howard.

And these are exactly the same things people were saying about Beasley in the summer.

Insane reasoning right here is why Bynum will fleece another team for millions.

next to the nets and knicks, the cavs have been one of the most entertaining teams in the nba

-bennett as no. 1 pick
-mike brown a horrible coach
-irving, waiters and thompson fighting
-bynum's bad attitude
-didn't fulfill expectations
