Their draft selections say otherwise..
Your team gutted itself for Melo instead of signing him in FA. Stoudamire, traded for Bargnani. Picked up Billup's option just to amnesty him. Cavs can't touch any of that.

This dude again. All you do is go to other teams board and say Cavs won't do this or that. Chill. Post something useful for once.

I was thinking along the lines of Lowry+2014 2nd Rounder for THJ? Would you guys say no considering the way Lowry has been playing?

Cavs get - Raymond Felton, JR Smith, Tour'e Murray, Cole Adrich & 2018 1st rd pick

Knicks get - Andrew Bynum & Dion Waiters

Start Dion Waiters at PG.
Pick up Bynum's option.

With Bynum, Amar'e, Chandler, Peace, Prigs & Bargs all as expirings next season, plus Shumpert & Waiters, we will have plenty of assets to make deals.

I'd gladly take either of them but again, I'm not giving up a first round pick. I'm curious about what it would take to bring bynum here. they'd probably want tyson, but I'm not so sure I'd make that trade.

Bargs and Shump -4- Bynum and Waiters

You can start Waiters at the 2 opposite of a PG and still create a 2 point guard type line-up.

Chandler for Bynum + Memphis 2015 1st

Melo for Lin, Asik, D-Mo and + 2015 1st

----

Target 2015 as the rebuild with our own first (top 4 minimum, we'd easily be the worst team in the league with Stat, JR and Bargs leading us  ) and then two more mid/late 1st rounders.

Knicks Send:
Tyson Chandler
Amare Stoudemire
Iman Shumpert
Raymond Felton

Knicks Receive:
Josh Smith
Pau Gasol
Will Bynum
Robert Sacre

Pistons send:
Josh Smith
Will Bynum

Pistons receive:
Xavier Henry
Chris Kaman
Steve Nash
Lakers 2014 2nd Round Pick

Lakers send:
Pau Gasol
Xavier Henry
Chris Kaman
Steve Nash
Robert Sacre
2014 2nd Round Pick

Lakers receive:
Tyson Chandler

Do you do it? Smith's contract is kinda "yikes" & cuts into the 2015 plan, but it does give us an interesting team.
My lifetime better have a Knicks championship.

And? Melo is very efficient when he has another volume scorer next to him.

...he is?

you think morey is going to trade for melo? really? aside from the obvious clashing of melo, harden, and howard...what about the fact that they have a solid small forward in parsons (who has arguably the best contract in the league, value wise) and there would not be a guarantee melo re-signs?

nuggets are in an interesting situation. they've lost 6 straight games, they're outside of the playoffs as of this moment, and while they have our pick, the magic have theirs. it'll be interesting to see what they do next.

Eh, very is a stretch. But he's pushed 57 TS% with AI next to him.

And you're asking like the asking price is insane. We're asking for a b-level prospect in D-Mo, a nightly DNP in Asik, their #4 offensive option in Lin and like the 25th pick. They're giving up pretty much nothing meaningful to them for a superstar.

Also, they offered Lin/Asik for Deron Williams, who's on a toxic deal and is pretty trash now. Asking for their 3rd string PF and a pick in addition is more than fair IMO. Houston loves their stars.

Not sure what Parsons has to do with this, they could run: Beverly | Harden | Parsons | Melo | Dwight. And there is as good a chance as any he re-signs with Houston, he's not going to have anywhere else to go but the Lakers.

Sorry if I rambled a bit, just wanted to get all my words in

i dont think the asking price is that insane (besides the draft pick -- morey never gives up picks). also, although lin may be 4th on the pecking order, he really doesnt have a set place. when harden is on the bench, hes either 1 or 2. with the starters, hes really 3 or 4.

as for them seeing if williams was available -- hes signed into his contract. maybe morey thinks he just needs a change of scenery and non-geriatric teammates.

i brought up parsons because the rockets do not need a small forward -- although, melo can be slotted at pf. they really need a stretch 4 who can spot up, rebound and defend a bit, and play off the ball. melo would require too many isolations, would take up too many possessions, and, i believe, would have a hard time fitting in with harden and howard.

also, keep in mind that morey is all about moneyball / advanced stats...and, like i said before, he would be trading for a player that is about to become a free agent and has said he will opt out.
