In the 70/80s it was. Now you would need a helmet and goggles.

I know its hard to remove bias, but it would be interesting to see if people can by looking at the numbers and describing the player they think they see in the numbers.

I say it because I've seen him play and I don't think his style of game is the type that adds cumulatively to a good team. His offense is based on long 2's. Guys who shoot long 2's don't really help spacing as off-the-ball players nearly as well as dead-eye catch-and-shoot guys like Martell Webster. And when he's got the ball in his hands, he doesn't get to the rim so he's not getting the defense out of position to help his teammates get offensive rebounds. He also doesn't get to the FT line to put the opposing team in the penalty, and he doesn't play very good defense.

What he does well is generate offense on his own without much help from teammates. But he doesn't do it efficiently enough to carry a team to a winning record. He's the kind of player that would be great on a 2nd unit that was full of defensive-minded personnel at other positions.

I didn't go into it thinking this but after looking at the numbers and comps, I think he could replace a Mario Chambers. And that guy is on one of the best teams in the league.

Yea right. Chalmers is one of the best defensive guards in the NBA, and he's an excellent catch-and-shoot guy. He is exactly what the Heat want out of their point guard. Jordan Crawford could never do what Chalmers does. As a matter of fact, I guarantee you Crawford would end up pissing off Wade and Lebron by jacking up stupid shots early in the shot clock, and just like the Wizards his dumbass would get benched.

AH. I was looking for an analysis of his numbers at his new position so far. Pretty impressive for a guy that never got the starting node at PG before. Specially since they are winning.

Over the last 12 games, Crawford has averaged:

32.6 minutes
13.3 points
6.2 assists
3.1 rebounds
.360 FG%
.196 3P%
.467 TS%
96 ORtg

They've lost 9 of their last 10 games.

I never thought his efficiency was sustainable when it was so dependent on long 2's. His numbers for the season are now regressing to his career averages. His PER on the season is down to 16.6 and his TS% down to .535. (In his last year with Washington, he posted a PER of 14.7 and a TS% of .512.)

It was to be expected. I wouldn't be surprised if he's deal now that Boston acquired Bayless and Rondo will be back soon. I've read a lot of comments from Boston fans saying he's just painful and unenjoyable to watch play. Can't disagree there.

More like the entire team is playing like most expected them to at the beginning of the season.

Also

4 out of the last 5 have been road games and decently tough teams with CHI, DEN, OKC, LAL

Coming up

GS on the road. Then POR on the road. That 6 of 7 games on the road and some tough teams at that.

Then they come home to HOU and TOR

No an easy schedule. Wonder how the Wizards would have handled that.

That is kind of the point isn't it. That he does things this team needs and they totally mismanaged him to the point he became disgruntled. And then they mismanaged that. And then blow the trade.

He became disgruntled because he didn't want to accept a role behind young backcourt players who in his mind he probably thinks he's better than. He has somewhat admitted as such w/his comments before our game in Boston.

Right. He was mismanaged. And when you say young backcourt, I think people will think of Wall and Beal. Reality is, it was Price, Temple, Mack that be played behind that bothered him the most and poisoned things. He should have started the year at either PG or SG. I don't blame him for thinking that. Hell, I posted exactly that at the time and ever since. I felt Randy was totally blowing it. And had he been starting PG, this scenario would look almost the same as Boston this year with Rondo out.

Thing is, we have the perfect experience to see how things could have gone differently because we can just look to Boston who is doing it the way I suggested we should have. Different option by a different coach.

Exactly. I think he realizes how unprofessional his attitude was at the end of his DC tenure. I think he is trying not to repeat the same mistake. For that give him kudos. But he needed to go...

In the meantime he hasn't performed well over the last 10 games (as teams figure him out) and Boston's losing streak continues. Robinson is now looking much better than Crawford. Point: Crawford leaving could have been Robinson - thank you EG.
