Pau Gasol Trade Thread
I would love to see this dude healthy again, I still think he can still play at a high level. I still see 18 and 10 from him. So my question is would you bring him back shut him down and do everything to get him healthy and bring him back for the next season.

Re: Should we bring Bynum back?
D'Antoni barely knows what to do with Pau Gasol, and he can actually hit from midrange rather consistently. Bynum, despite being back in Los Angeles, would be even worse-off. He isn't as mobile as, say, Jordan HIll.

Re: Should we bring Bynum back?
Bynum asking price would be a steal at this point of his career, I could see him as a good back up center. But I'm guessing he's not willing to go down without a fight regarding his days as being an allstar level player. With a coach that knows how to play through the post he might be good, but with D'antoni here it would be a train wreck. He'd be whining for more and more touches all year.
I bet even with his bum knees he's still a better rim protector than Gasol and Kaman. I might let him sign with another team and hopefully he gets healthy there, but remains discontent so we can steal him in the summer for cheap. Maybe he returns to form or maybe he plays poorly with another team and is more willing to accept a backup center role.

Let's bring back Radman, Samaki Walker and Slava too... Maybe even a little Deavan George... So we can have the All-Frustration Lakers Team...

Re: Should we bring Bynum back?
If the Lakers could trade Pau Gasol to the Cavs for Bynum, a young player such as Thompson or Bennett, and a first round draft pick I would do a deal for Bynum. Lakers can go two ways with Bynum... A) Hope being back in LA could motivate him to play to or close to the level he was at when he was here before... B) Or waive him before Jan 7th and save $6M and go below the tax line.
I like Gasol a lot, don't get me wrong but Gasol is a player better suited for a team missing one piece that can propel them deepinto the playoffs, the Lakers aren't that team. The Lakers need to go younger next year and getting something for Pau while he still has some value should be a priority, Pau is not that convinced to stay beyond this year anyways. Getting a young player like Thompson or Bennett would be a step in the right direction and getting a pick is something the Lakers could use, especially after giving Kobe his big contract.

Why stop at bynum? Rodman is available, glen rice, eddie jones, van exel, shaq doesn't have a contract.

I actually wouldnt be surprise if Rodman could come back and play and be just as productive. He was always in unbelievable shape.

You want the cavs to give up on the #1 pick less than half way through the season, take on a bunch of salary, and also throw in a pick?
You need to bring your expectations waaaaaaay down in regards to what pau can actually bring back on a trade.

At 12 million a season, hell no. At the MMLE, sure.

Re: Should we bring Bynum back?
Some Laker fans need to stop living in the past. Bynum has no business coming back to the Lakers. He is a cancer to a locker room and has no passion for the game. He's only concerned about the paycheck.

Re: Should we bring Bynum back?
Rumor has it that Bynum got suspended because he screwed the assistant coach's wife. I don't think the Lakers want that. Shannon Brown knows it.
