Bears Game Thread: The Swag Re-Up

Post#1 » by whatthe_buck!? » Sun Dec 29, 2013 2:38 pm

From the JS game preview-
When: 3:25 p.m. Sunday. Where: Soldier Field. TV: Fox. Radio: AM-620.

Series: Bears lead, 93-88-6. Line: Packers by 3. Weather: 27, flurries. Surface: Grass.

Coaches: Green Bay's Mike McCarthy (87-49-1, .639) vs. Chicago's Marc Trestman (8-7, .533).

"A true champion, face to face in his darkest hour, will do whatever it takes to rise above. A man fights, fights, and fights some more. Because surrender is death, and death is for pussies."
-Kenny f*cking Powers

Wont be easy because Peppers nowadays only comes to play -and to earn his paycheck- twice a season (and those two games are against us), but no big hits on Godgers and I think we got this. Time to f*ck sh*t up: Beat the Bears on the road, Rodgers gets hot, then the Saints at home, the Panthers on the road, the Niners at home, and the Broncos in New York. Boom, Lombardi trophy. Lets do this.

Packers 34 Bears 24

First game in years where I was like ''oh no,it's windy'' in regard to a Packer game but then realized ''oh wait, the wind favors us''.

This Packer's offense is at its best with a shorter passing attack and heavy doses of Lacy and Starks and with the wind that's exactly what we will (hopefully) see today.

And the wind will maybe neutralize the big play ability of Jeffery and Marshall for Chicago.

We'll see but the wind should effect the Bears more than it should us.

Very exciting day to say the least.

I agree that the wind + Cutler could be an incredibly favorable combination for us today, possibly even more favorable than the Rogers + Cobb combo. My biggest concern (aside from Rodgers collarbone of course) is Lacy's ankle, it is a risk to go out at any time and if it does I think the advantage of the weather forcing a ground and pound type game immediately shifts to Forte and the Bears.

If MMs dumb*ss decision to give Lacy meaningless carries at the end of halves comes back to haunt us in this game or in any other potential future games this year I'm going to be upset to say the least...

This will be fun. I am definitely nervous about the game, but I am confident that Jay is going to toss us at least a couple pick-me balls. You also have to know that the collective sphincter of Bears Nation tightened considerably when they found out that Rodgers was coming back. They're going to be having flashbacks to the NFC Championship.

This is going to be a tough game, but one big drive from Rodgers to start it off will be incredibly important.

Can't wait to see what ARod can do when he has an very good, almost elite running game to lean on. This game should be fun.

I'm actually not. If we win, cool obviously but I don't really expect much in the playoffs from either team, so if we lose, whatever.

Now that I say that watch the Bears win today and go on to win the Owl.

Packers will defiantly be getting a call from the NFL on brad jones. Listed as probably but inactive.

#Bears inactives: QB Jordan Palmer, T Joe Long, T/G James Brown, T Jonathan Scott, WR Earl Bennett, Chris Williams, DE Cornelius Washington.

Anyone ever get the story of what family problem bennett was going through? Pretty big loss for them.

My cousin is a ticket broker in Chicago. He just sent me pics from his luxury box...standing with AJ Hawks mom and dad! #Jealous!!

According to the Hawks, they share a box with the Mathews family @ Lambeau. Must be hard. :D

There's no rule that they have to activate players listed as probable. What are you talking about?

One of those games where I wouldn't be surprised if they win or lose. Obviously, I hope we win, but I don't trust this defense. AT ALL.

At least Lattimore is in there instead of Jones.

+ 1000000000
Maybe Capers has been intentionally handicapping his defense all year and now that its basically the playoffs he's taking off the engine governor. Capers is a pool shark!!!! He's been setting up the league all season!!!!!1!1!1!
Needless to say, I could not be more excited, I really hope the originally posted that he's inactive isn't specifically trolling me. If so, VERY well done... :-)

Read an article a few weeks back that the NFL looked into a greg jennings being probable and then was inactive.

per profootball talk

"Several years ago, the NFL made it clear to teams that, if/when a player listed as probable doesn’t play, at a minimum an explanation must be provided."
