Hawks v Magic

Post#1 » by Jamaaliver » Sun Dec 29, 2013 11:17 pm

Just realized we have another game tonight.

Brand gets the start at Center again.

Vucevic is looking good early. Hawks are at least hanging tough. Down 13-9 after 5 minutes.

Also, apparently Demarre Carroll is out injured, Lou Williams gets the start at SG and Korver moves to SF.

We're pretty banged up right now. Might need to recall Jared Cunningham.

Hawks are playing like a well oiled machine. A well organized rec league squad. They cut the deficit to 2 points after scoring back-to-back three pointers.

Nice to see they haven't just given up on the season, even amidst all the adversity they are currently facing.

Dude, Vucevic is such a beast. Hard to believe he is the real prize to come out of the whole Dwight Debacle.

Good defense by Oladipo, ripping Teague and Magic score on the fastbreak. 7-0 run to take control of the game again.

Methinks CLE will regret for years not taking him #1. You always go with the best player available at #1. Regardless of need.

Magic is killing us on fastbreak points. Our 3-pt shooting (as always) is keeping us in this.

We got the deficit down from 12 to just 7 by the half.

Vucevic has 10 points and 9 rebs already. Another opposing Center on pace for 20 and 20? Hope not.

Kyle's streak is up to 100 straight games with a 3pter.

The team's streak of 3 straight OT games might be in jeopardy, however.

Our depth in the frontcourt is really underwhelming. Mike Scott and P Millsap are solid. The rest of these guys have some serious deficiencies.

We need a Center.

One last note:

Magic have 28 points in the paint in the first half. We have 6.

Magic have 14 fastbreak points in the first half. We have 2.

I know we managed to hold on and beat Charlotte last night, but I see some serious flaws in the team. Going forward, we're gonna have some serious issues inside.

Go Hawks, but if the Hawks lose this one, it would give the Magic one more win and give the Magic a better record than the Nets. It would bring the Nets from 5th worst to 4th worst.

We cannot tank, so either we get another big man or face ridicule.

Whole lotta grit being displayed by our guys. I would love a moral victory that's also an actual victory.

Magic aren't a great team, but Vucevic is going to be a bad matchup without Horford.

That's the 3rd turnover in the last few minutes where our PG just lost the ball in a crowd. Teague and Mack trying to do too much and are looking clumsy in the process.

It irks me how that since they are down so much they are giving up their passing and just jacking up 3s.

They rely too much on 3s.

No team can win relying exclusively on the long ball. We have no inside presence whatsoever, Horford was the player we could least afford to lose.

They led to a 9-0 run by the Magic that we couldn't overcome.

Millspa tried to do too much tonight...and he struggled. 4 of 14, 1 of 6 from 3.

Lou also had a bad game with his percentages as well.
