Re: Andrew Bynum
We'd be stupid not to at least look into it. Really his only purpose would be for when we go up against the Pacers. Just like Oden. If we have a chance, take it

Re: Andrew Bynum
He posted "Free at last" on his twitter page. That's a pretty decisive indicator to me that he's going to be on the market soon. He's been averaging 20 minutes a game. If he comes without headaches, then I'm all for it. Couldn't hurt much compared to what we have now.

A focused Bynum would be a god send for this team. Get it done Riley!

It does not exist! Not for more than a second.

Re: Andrew Bynum
If Bynum ends up here, it will be another no-cost/high-reward acquisition. He'll be on a minimum deal. He's not coming into this locker room, with this organization, with this coaching staff or these players and disrupting anything. I just don't find talk about disgruntled players coming to this team and damaging the team's ecosystem as believable. It just isn't going to happen. It couldn't happen. It's a team of distinguished vets and superstars, all champions, Bynum would sit in the corner and do what was expected of him or he'd be quickly shut-off from the collective, or just released.
Whether or not he could play within the Heat's defensive system is a valid concern, but his size alone makes him a formidable obstacle. I can see a scenario where Spoelstra, recognizing Bynum's limits, could just have him stay on Hibbert's hip for 20-minutes in a game and limit his effectiveness just enough to make the Pacers' prospects of victory very slim in a seven-game series. Nor would I be surprised if Bynum's bad attitude and apathy suddenly disappeared in a better situation. I can't say much for a guy that is stealing money, but the realist in me recognizes that it's difficult to be at your best, to even put forth decent effort in a bad situation, it requires a level of personal pride that Bynum obviously does not possess and few people do. Perhaps Bynum is just a front-runner, he's only good when things are good, if so, it still accrues to our benefit.

Re: Andrew Bynum
If we get him after he's released I think the Heat have to waive Joel if he can't be traded. We need Roger Mason for not only his ability to shoot the ball, but his perimeter defense is solid! We are going to need him come playoff time.
I went looking for Bynum's most recent highlights and he appears to be moving pretty good in this video against a decent post defender in DeAndre Jordan.

id rather play james jones over mason. in the playoffs the rotations tend to shrink and starters get more minutes. imo mason is just eddie house from 3 years ago. feisty competitor that hasnt seen a shot he doesnt like.
joel has value as an expiring

JJ can only guard ad's and of course we know I use the term guard loosely. Mason can guard the pg's & sg's and keeps premium shooting on this roster in case of injury. I'm not sure how much value Joel's small expiring contract will get us NEXT year.

Mason > JJ, but Mason's contract isn't guaranteed and JJ's is.
We'll have an answer regarding Bynum within a week.

Are you kidding me? Bynum has historically wrecked Jordan. Jordan's a good shot blocker, great athlete and a big body, but that doesn't automatically make you a great defender. Sounds silly I know, but ask anyone in LA.

Re: Andrew Bynum
What kind of message would this send to Oden who's been working so hard and diligently as well as trying to keep his confidence going in the midst of constant frustration and uncertainty?
Bringing in this clown who has a terrible rep and hasn't even been around the squad at all, while simultaneously rendering Oden's signing/hard work moot is not a good look. This is just one of the many reasons why this is so so unlikely.

It's Bynum, not prime Shaq.
Even if Bynum is added, there's still enough minutes to give Greg IF he's ready in time. neither of them is going to play big minutes, they can both share the minutes at Center with Bird, another guy that can't play big minutes.

lol... In miami he'll have more options than the assistant coach's wife at least. No way they bring him back now though.
