If they can't trade him, they're going to cut him regardless. Miami shouldn't be at the forefront of their decision making. Paying a dude 6mill to do nothing just so you can cockblock a team your not competing with (atm) doesn't seem like the right play.

Apparently it's false... but then again it's the Cavs denying it and of course they will deny something like that

Why don't they come out with the truth then? Either that or Bynum is going to have "allegedly" slept with every Cavalier woman (and a few men) in the organization.

Gasol-Bynum swap discussed

December 31, 2013, 10:35 AM ET
By Brian Windhorst and Ramona Shelburne | ESPN.com

No deal is believed to be imminent, but both sides are mulling it ahead of a Jan. 7 deadline when the second half of Bynum's $12.25 million salary would be guaranteed. The Cavs suspended Bynum for one game this weekend for conduct detrimental to the team and have excused him indefinitely from all activities, including games.

By trading Gasol in a package for Bynum and then waiving Bynum, the injury-ravaged Lakers could save more than $20 million in salary and luxury taxes, which could help them maintain financial flexibility heading into the next few summers. A Gasol-Bynum trade would have to include at least one other player to make the deal work under league rules, and perhaps other assets from Cleveland...

Some people are assuming if the Lakers trade Gasol for Bynum, they will cut him. Basically just a trade to save money. So eithe way, he will be cut by the Cavs or the Lakers. But we need to figure out if he actually slept with the assistant coach's wife, thats important in terms of team chemistry. Thats a big nono and if he did, no way we bring him in. Not worth it

If Bynum really was sleeping with a married woman, then I think the wife is more to blame. I wouldn't let that impact my decision to sign him.

I went looking for Bynum's most recent highlights and he appears to be moving pretty good in this video against a decent post defender in DeAndre Jordan.

Are you kidding me? Bynum has historically wrecked Jordan. Jordan's a good shot blocker, great athlete and a big body, but that doesn't automatically make you a great defender. Sounds silly I know, but ask anyone in LA.

Perhaps this works better for you then. I want to see footage of him versus Hibbert. That's the most important.

Would Pau be more desirable if he gets waived by the Cavs if this trade actually goes down?

Pau will not get waived, it makes no sense for the Cavs to trade for a bigger contract and lose even more money by getting rid of him. With how the Lakers are looking, it makes a lot of sense for them to cut Bynum if they get him.

Bynum for Deng is also being talked about. Where ever Bynum goes, he's getting waived lol

The impression I get from Bynum is that he's only gonna be focused in a warm climate with a winning situation. He was focused in LA while winning the championships. If he WANTS to come here, then I say he's gonna be pretty focused.

Bynum is a big ass mofo. He'll be perfect against Hibbert.

If Pau agrees to a buyout they'll definitely still save money! I can't see them thinking that Pau would want to be in Cleveland when they see him having problems in LA. And let's no forget Pau didn't exactly like Mike Brown and his offense during his short stay in LA.

You're a bit confused. if Cavs wanted to "save money too", they can just cut Bynum now. no need to trade him. If they trade him, it's because they want to get a productive player.

Looks like a very good shot he gets waived at some point in the next week or so. I'll be pretty disappointed if we don't go after him.

The interesting question that could impact us is - is any team willing to trade for Bynum and pay him 6Mil$ for his services in the next few months?

I doubt it, which means he can be added if Riley wants him

Are you certain they aren't using Bynum's deal to get rid of a few undesirables like Dion Waiters? Because it's not going to be a straight up deal for Pau??? Don't be so certain that they're trading for a keeper.

That's nice and all but kinda irrelevant - Bynum is an all time low after his injuries and Hibbert is playing better then ever, improved a lot last couple of years.

For the minimum Bynum can be a steal, but don't expect him to look like an allstar again
