This. They tried to sell Zeller to Bobcats fans on a variety of aspects, from the most NBA-ready prospect in the draft class to a perimeter big that should be able to easily translate into a stretch 4 with his effortless shooting stroke, but as of now everything that they've sold is looking like damaged goods without a return policy

zeller is another very likable, high character, smart, hard working draftee, which makes it all the more difficult to get mad at him. if he was an idiot or headcase i'd would be ripping him to shreds. he gets a bit of a pass because he just seems like an awesome dude.

its the kemba/biyombo/mkg syndrome. no matter how bad they might play, i cant dislike them because they are just awesome people.

I like him as a person from everything I have seen. His whole family from the parents to Luke to Tyler to him seem liked good solid folks. I have seen a few things about them and they always seem like gracious down to earth people. I just think he was the wrong pick for us when we took him.

Maybe. maybe not. Imagine what Cavs, Wizards, Suns, Kings, or any other fan is thinking right now though. This will go down as the worst draft of all time, I am almost certain of it. It will make 2000 sound like a Swedish massage. Could you imagine if the draft rumors of Chris Sheridan were true and we essentially traded MKG for Otto Porter?

My God. Id freaking kill myself.

I think the Wizards and Suns fans are thinking "We don't know what we have yet hopefully it is better than the other guys who have been healthy and played." Kings fans are thinking well the kid is streaky but has shown some promise. Cavs fans are pissed they wasted a top pick on a overweight tweener. We are mad because our guy hasn't shown anything promising and should have started better than any of the others since he was sold as a finished product that was at least a little NBA ready.

I've never really understood the term " more nba ready". People say Parker is more NBA ready than Wiggins. Why? Because Parker is a better basketball player at this point? Because Wiggins is more athletic, but can't do some of the things Parker can at the moment? I might be way off base here, but Im betting that if Cody Zeller was African American he would have more upside in some peoples eyes than what is being let on, especially with the experts. At least it always seems that way.

There is no such thing as a sophomore in being a finished product, at least not in this past years draft I believe.

Cody is a very likable person, he just needs to get more consistent from midrange which i think he can do

NBA ready for me means has skills other than just athletic ability that translate. Cody is limited by the fact he can play post due to length and can't play outside since he can't shoot. People tried to sell he had some NBA skill to use right away. Heck even Biz could at least block shots as a rookie at a good rate. Cody was sold as polished and he has shown nothing about his game is meant for this level of competition.

You are way off base!!! Look at Zeller's production. It's only comparable to scrubs.

We all stuck by Kemba Walker during his horrific rookie season and hes doing just fine. Im willing to do the same for Zeller. If none of you choose to stick behind him than thats your right. I will though :)

And if/when Zeller starts to play well Im going to quote every damn quote on this thread bashing him and post them non stop. This Zeller hate is getting ridiculous.

MKG struggled a bit last year and he gets pass, still gets a pass, I still give him a pass and its ok. Kemba blows his rookie year, has a nice sophomore campaign and is inconsistent this year while still being solid, he gets a pass. Biyombo always gets a pass. He will always get a pass. He walks on water. Zeller is 32 games into his NBA career and bashed constantly.

Constructive criticism is great. I like constructive criticism, but some of you bash him just for the hell of it. You hated the pick so you will nit pick and do this or that and pick any moment to bash him at any moment that you possibly can.

Im recommending for some of you to get behind the fella. Was it the right pick? I think it was, but because you don't think it was at the time doesn't mean you have to hate on him.

If Cody upgrades his jumper from horrible to mediocre he goes from being Hakim Warrick to 2012 Tyrus. Still useless. He brings literally nothing to the table. I dunno how many more times I can watch him get posterized or get his **** smacked into the 5th row. He also has the charisma and floor presence of a potato. at least Bismack pretends like he's good. You look and Cody and you can tell he knows he doesnt belong

Yep. Comparing a rookie not even halfway into his career to Warrick and a Tyrus Thomas who didn't give a damn.

Its post like this that is just brain wrenching to me.

Kemba had a rough year and it was still way better than Zeller has shown to this point. I hope I am wrong but nothing about his past showed he would be decent and nothing since he got here has changed any of that. This is a guy who is stretch 4 length and hit less than a shot a game from outside the lane if I remember correctly.

The reason why I'm not too fond of the Cody Zeller pick is because I feel bamboozled, almost as if they insulted my intelligence...

-- Cho said the NBA player Zeller reminds him of most is Portland Trail Blazer LaMarcus Aldridge.

Cho on Zeller: “He’s a pretty unique player with his size – a legit 7-foot – and he can run as well as any 7-footer out there. He can hit a perimeter shot; 18-20 feet and out beyond the arc. He has a very, very high basketball IQ.”

http://blogs.charlotte.com/inside_the_n ... bcats.html

''It's not a huge adjustment,'' Zeller said at an introductory press conference Friday. ''I shot outside in high school and AAU. In college I didn't need to as much because we had so many perimeter shooters and didn't have a post presence other than me. I had to be that guy. I'm a team guy and if that's what the team needs from me than that's what I'm going to do.''
