Constructive criticism is great. I like constructive criticism, but some of you bash him just for the hell of it. You hated the pick so you will nit pick and do this or that and pick any moment to bash him at any moment that you possibly can.

Im recommending for some of you to get behind the fella. Was it the right pick? I think it was, but because you don't think it was at the time doesn't mean you have to hate on him.

It is not hating just to call it like it is. He was a bad pick and still looks that way. Why cheer fora. Guy you know will disappoint. That is like telling Bucks fans they should hope for the ring this year. No reason to get your hopes up when reality tells you not to.

Well, whatever. I wanted the guy before he was drafted and Im still happy we drafted him. Im willing to stick out my "poster integrity" (not even sure if that even exist, or is a statement that works well together) for this kid.

I've had a little bit too much wine to drink, and instead of posting on this board I think ill attempt to celebrate the new year with my family in the living room. Mrknowitall, jdm, kembawalker, catch, you guys are great posters. Love to all :D And a happy new year!

It's not Zeller hate. We want him to play better but he is something terrible right now. As a 7 footer it's not even that hard to look serviceable and he can't even do that yet. We have no choice but to rant and rave. I want to eat crow. I don't have no hate for him. He's a good kid and he's talented. I just thought that he'd be, I don't know, average!!!

You too. Happy New Year.

If it were not for the debate and people being proven wrong or right what would this board be for. It would be a very boring place if everything was always obviously right or wrong.

You can't compare lackluster rookie seasons (Kemba & MKG) to the atrocious rookie season that Zeller is having so far. You refuse to understand that our criticisms of Zeller always leave that door open that it's subject to change --- and that's hopefully. I'm not making off base statements like Meyers Leonard, Jon Leuer, and etc. is better. I'm leaving Zeller room for improvement because I had higher expectations for him, and even my higher expectations weren't that high, but that's how low he's been playing. Even Biyombo had a impertinent rookie year, but it was still better than what Zeller has shown so far. That's the moot point of this debate, that Zeller has been second-rate to below average

I can respect a statement like that.

Happy New years to you and your family.

liverpooty is a legendary name. Well, not legendary, but I bet when you are 70 years old you will still remember it. :)

Yep. Comparing a rookie not even halfway into his career to Warrick and a Tyrus Thomas who didn't give a damn.

Its post like this that is just brain wrenching to me.

Its brain wrenching to me that someone could think Cody is just a jumpshot away from being a decent player. No. MKG is a jumpshot away from being a decent player..Cody Zeller is a jumpshot away from having 1 NBA caliber skill. And he's still really far away from that based on what we've seen so far. Its a joke to compare them as prospects as far as being hopeful is concerned. I think I'm lower on Zeller than I've been on any draft pick this team has ever made. You could hand Cody a Bosh level jumpshot and he still wouldn't be a starter level player with his defense/rebounding/interior game

Cody is a pretty good rebounder he averages 8.5 per 36mins which is good and 2.7 of those are offensive rebounds which is really good and he averages 1blk and 1stl per 36 also so he isn't a bad defender he just gets beat when he goes against a physical/stronger PF or C (mainly in the low post)

per 36 Bismack is almost prime Ben Wallace, numbers mean less and less the fewer minutes you play

Biz who was younger without a training camp and less experienced did that is a rookie except for the steals. And triple the blocks almost. This guy was a project, Cody is supposed to be polished. That is our point we were sold and Aldridge like player and we got a less physical slightly better shooting Biz. Hopefully he comes around but nothing right now is polished in his game compared to other projects.

This is getting absurd. Who in the hell do we have to work with him on this team? Biyombo has noticeably improved this offseason. Is that from him finally starting to piece it together or from learning under Patrick Ewing.

We have a coach who has the offensive mindset to have maybe 3 total plays! The offense doesn't change AT ALL from the 1st unit to the 2nd unit. Zeller is not McBob he doesn't have the same skill set (if you can call what McBob has a skill set). Coaching should be part to blame here, it's so obvious we are asking him to do stuff he is not yet comfortable with but we have a rookie head coach getting can you believe it... A PASS! This team should be start Biyombo alongside Al and more of McBob and Zeller together giving Zeller more touches closer to the basket. Furthermore I guess we should give Sessions A PASS (I really wish we could give him one because it isn't part of his skill set) for always looking to get his.

There is so much ineptitude on this team, but hey let's blame it on Zeller. The pundits said he was a reach so lets jump on board, he's obviously the reason our team is starting to get exposed.

I don't get how people are saying you were "sold a polished product" I call BS, people knew Zeller was being asked to change his game coming to the NBA. In fact he's probably being asked to change his game more than anyone else in the draft. I don't know when was the last time I actually seen him get the ball on a post up, and he's constantly setting screens for Sessions.

Play Zeller closer to the basket???????????????

Image

Thats his shot chart. Hard to believe thats the shot chart of a 7fter with 39 inch vertical or whatever but it is what it is.

DJ Augustin is converting better at the rim than Cody this season

and thats with him being opportunistic at the rim. God knows how awful he would be doing if we actually fed him the ball down there and told him to do something with it

KembaWalker I don't think they are comprehending how bad Zeller has been. The eye test tells me and the numbers only confirm it. I don't think there's been a worst rookie PF getting rotational minutes since Chris Singleton of the Wizards and I think he might of been a SF.
