It's hard to lose by 30 twice to the same team in a span of a year on New Years Eve but we have done it. Cheers! Happy New Years, guys.
The Good:
-Plumlee looked really good. Watching this team so much makes you forget what athleticism looks like. It kind of shows that this team can't be any good unless there is a balance of youth and young legs with it because we had literally nothing going on certain possessions and they would find Plumlee for lob dunks each time down the floor. His rebounding improved especially in traffic and his defense was pretty solid as well. Doesn't mean much but It kind of gives you some hope that he can rapidly develop like his brother did.
-Kirilenko would have probably helped us win a few close games. It's honestly embarrassing how smart he is compared to the idiots on this team. The guy hasn't played since the beginning of November and his first possession was a Rubio esque backdoor pass to Deron cutting to the rim.
The Bad:
-Joe Johnson....The guy has literally disappeared since the Sixer game. I actually forgot he was still on the team at one point during the game my reaction when he checked in out loud: "Oh I forgot about him"...and to think we'll still be paying for that trade til 2018 and he would be retired by then...
-Deron...He tells the media "I need to be aggressive" but takes 11 shots, 1 free throw attempt and at one point drove to the rim and passed it to Marco Bellineli on the wing. I don't get it. It's one thing to play bad or inefficient but the guy is simply scared of being a scoring threat. His efficiency is good, his usage is embarrassing for a 100 million dollar player. If I was drunk enough than I am now I would swear he was Jose Calderon out there. This is where the Melo/Deron debate starts because Melo may not make anyone better but he damn sure wouldn't take 11 shots when his teammates are embarrassing themselves every night.
-KG...The dude is finished. I think he knows it too. He got destroyed and outplayed by everyone but that's no excuse to continue to shoot those 19 foot jumpers and refuse to take it to the rim. Watching the shot selection between him and Duncan is staggering. One takes high percentage shots and doesn't force it. The other thinks he's LaMarcus Aldridge.
-Pierce..."It's embarrassing, I've never played in these many blowouts" Just shut up already. You were pure trash tonight. You didn't play a lick of defense. There was a play where Bellineli got three wide open shots and Pierce didn't even bother to cover him. He's all talk, no action. f*ck him.
-Kidd...."We didn't put the ball in the basket and it dictated our defense"....When will this idiot realize in order to put the ball in the basket, you have to have an OFFENSIVE GAME PLAN. He really truly thinks that they just miss shots with no reasons tied to it. He's totally clueless. It's even more alarming of how clueless he is when he just played for a Top 5 offensive team last season.
-Teletovic...Another Kidd blunder. He came into the game 7th in the NBA in Threes Made in December. Yet, he got no screens to free him up in the game and more importantly, got randomly subbed out at the start of the 3rd quarter. He made 5 threes a few days ago but only gets 3 attempts today against bigs that can't even guard him? WTF.
This team is just a collection of fail. Kidd is a moron and he's clueless but the fact is Anderson, Kirilenko, Teletovic, Plumlee, Livingston play hard. The four clowns in the starting lineup do not.
I'm starting to hope they don't make any trades just to make them suffer out the season because it's their own doing. Kidd is horrible at everything but that should be no excuse for them to go out and give up uncontested threes time and time again to a team like the Spurs. That's player IQ.
