Thanasis going to TWolves would probably be nice for Giannis too.

...I would take Bogdan Bogdanović before Marcus Smart.

Bogdanovic has taken advantage of an injury to Partizan's starting point guard, Leo Westermann, to take on a much more prominent role in his team's offense as a primary ball-handler and facilitator. He's showcasing impressive versatility, leading the team in points, assists, blocks and usage, all while shooting 40% from 3-point range thus far.

Edit: 1.35 points per possession (!!!) in catch and shoots, AND is 6'6" with a 6'11" wingspan, and runs his team's offense. This is someone who you want playing a supporting role next to Giannis.

1.35 points per possession in catch and shoots. At that point, whoever guards him can't help off him. He's better in a catch-and-shoot than the NBA is at Corner-3s.

Say our own pick nets us a top-4 pick. Remind me again why trading two future firsts or Sanders and a future first for Embiid is a bad idea. Most of us are in agreement our core is going to already be in place at that point. If we were in the West, maybe we don't make the playoffs right away, but Giannis, Embiid, our pick, Middleton and whatever's left immediately makes the playoffs in the East.

I'd throw in a first-round pick-swap, too.

Really is hard to not like what Embiid is doing so far.

Embiid has the highest value of the prospects, so I take him first. I think come June, Embiid is the odds-on favorite for #1 overall.

Do you think a team with a top 3 pick would trade it for two future firsts or Sanders and a future first? And would you give up that package for Wiggins or Parker? It's a maybe to me. Absolutely wouldn't for Exum though. Not sold there and could be the type of move to seriously backfire.

I think an offer of two future firsts or Sanders and Henson with a pick gets our foot in the door. Maybe a future pick swap is needed, maybe another pick altogether with Sanders/Henson and the pick already involved, but I think it can be done.

I give up two picks for Wiggins or Parker, though I'd prefer Wiggins over Parker and possibly even Exum over Parker, but I'd hope to need to give up less for Exum. But yeah, that's beggars-can't-be-choosers optimism, either way I'm happy.

It might take the last part - Sanders/Henson + 2 1sts. That's a hell of a price for a team not guaranteed to be good. Not saying I wouldn't consider it but it could cripple the franchise if the player didn't pan out. Zero chance I'd do it for Exum. Wiggins and Parker I'd consider, because I like the idea bringing in Embiid and one of them at the same time and the chance for it to create a special culture here with them coming in at the same time and being paired with a guy the same age in Giannis. But it is a hell of a price.

I think it's a slam dunk yes if it's either two firsts or Sanders or Henson and a first. I think it's even a yes with Sanders or Henson, a first and a future pick swap.

Two firsts plus one of them is, yeah. It's a huge gamble with a huge reward, and if Drew is still the coach and the product on the court stays two decades behind where basketball is, it probably won't matter. If this trade is done or even considered, a proper coach backed by a proper analytics team is needed.

Not a chance in hell.

These trades look over the top unrealistic. The only way teams are going to be trading top picks this year is if they are getting some sort of young stud in return. As much as I love Sanders, no team is taking him and some future picks in return for one of the the top players in this draft.

The price is going to be so high that there really isn't any way a top 5 pick is getting moved this year. The teams that have what the teams drafting at the top will want won't be willing to part with it.

It's frightening to think that even if we end up with the worst record, we still only have a 64% chance at landing a top 3 pick.

That's why we need that #1 seed. I won't be thrilled with the fourth overall pick, but we likely at that point sort out our choice of Randle, Exum or Smart. We could still come out ok there.

Any scenario that lands us Exum is a good one for us.

And that's why every loss counts. You end up with the 3rd worst record and you could be drafting 6th.

this exact scenario happened to us in the 2007 draft. we had 3rd worst record and instead of getting lucky and getting a shot to draft durant or horford at 2 or 3, we fell all the way to #6, missing those 2 guys and settling on Yi. thats a franchise changer. with durant or even horford our past would have been so different. we cant let that happen again this draft, we need the worst record.
