NY decision to decline to trade future 1st rounder to Toronto was breaking point for the Raptors season. Hoping to impress Dolan, Lowery played like and all- star. Led by Lowry, tanking Toronto went 8-2 while NY, trying to contend went 4-6. This really is a script for a movie.

its not that we dont want lowry; its that we do not want to give up a pick or a young player.

Andre Miller is causing problems in Denver's locker room.

Bargnani + Udrih + Aldrich for Gallo + Andre Miller + Fournier

This saves Denver just enough money to add a top 5 pick we'll be giving them and not pay luxury tax.

If Carmelo can be talked into re-signing with the Warriors or at least picking up his player option, how about something like:

David Lee
Klay Thompson
Harrison Barnes

for

Carmelo
Hardaway Jr.
Kenyon Martin

I will give it a try. Although last time I posted here I was banned.
Here are the reasons why it makes sense for Toronto to trade Lowry:

1. We do not have a chance to contend. Best we can do is making it to the second round.
2. The only way to re-sign Lowry is to over-pay him.
3. Lowry is in his prime now, and he will be past his prime by the time we are in position to contend.
4. If we trade him for future pick, that pick would be tied to Toronto on reasonable contract. Also, that pick would be in his prime by the time Toronto is able to contend.
5. In order to be successful, we need to get a star in Toronto. And since we cannot sign a star through free agency or trade for one, the only way to do it is through draft. And even though chances of NY pick becoming a star are slim, they are still better than (non-existent) chances of getting it through free-agency or trade.

Why it makes sense for NY:

1. You still have the core which is one good point guard away from competing for the Championship. So if you can get Lowry for Shumpert and a pick, you should take that deal and run.
2. Unlike Toronto, you are not in a position to tank and are very unlikely to be in a position to have high draft pick anyway.
3. Lowry will be very happy to re-sign with NY, so he would not be a rental.
4. Even if he does not get you to the Conference Finals, he would make Anthony happy and that alone is good enough reason to trade for him.

I like NY and I am in no way being disrespectful. I do not buy the notion that NY is washed up and I want you to make a good playoff run and I really feel Lowry would help you.

No Hardaway, but he can take his buddy JR Spliff with him.

4 way between clips, knicks, rockets and toronto.

Knicks send out: Melo, Tyson, Bargs
Knicks receive: Blake, Lin, Asik, Dudley and Barnes

Clips send out: Blake, Dudley, Barnes, Deandre & Maalik Wayns (any other filler)
Clips get: Melo, Tyson and Terence Jones

Rockets send out: Lin, Asik & Terence Jones
Rockets receive: Bargnani, Deandre Jordan and Maalik Wayns

and for those who dont think houston would want Deandre, i'm sure they could flip him to someone like the raptors for lowry and novak.

Houston gets to stretch the floor some more and have aruegably the best 3 point shooting team in the league over GS.

Knicks get a young core to build on...

LA gets their win now mode in melo, cp3 and tyson...

and Toronto gets a nice young center in return for lowry, unloads novaks benchwarming contract, and can tank some more!

Unless the plan is to resign Lowry (I wouldn't and it appears that Ujiri feels the same), it makes no sense for the Raptors to not want to move him.

Bargs isn't a stretch 4

We wouldn't give up Lin or Asik for him much less both and jones

Asik>>>dj

Lin>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Malik wayans

Tj>bargs (yes bargs is a better offensive player but tj is better on d and cheaper)

Why do people still call bargs a stretch 4???? I actually wouldn't mind him but I wouldn't even trade a disgruntled Asik for him, definitely not him and Lin, 0 chance if u even tried to bring jones into the equation

Yeah. Bargnani would actually be better attacking the basket and playing closer to the basket. He can still take his outside shot but he's really at his best when he's being aggressive offensively and not settling for a quick outside shot.

Get Zach Randolph, get Lowry. Do it while keeping Iman, Hardaway and Melo. If you gotta toss Shump, toss him.

Just out of curiosity, would the Knicks be willing to s+t Melo to get something back for him if there is no future there? And, if so, would the Raptors be good trading partners?

Something like Derozan + our 2014 pick + Chuck Hayes? Or something like that?
