Transitioning from Karl's great regular season offense to a system Shaw would like to use takes time and the right players. I don't think Karl would take this hodge-podge of players any further than Shaw will.

Would you honestly prefer a Karl style offense this season, knowing it doesn't produce in the playoffs?

Is being .500 this year that much worse than being bounced easily in the first round?

No I would not prefer a Karl style offense, where the offense depended on fast breaks and foul calls. However some type of motion offense seems appropriate, considering how difficult it is for this team to score when teams focus on defense. There is a reason this team cannot score in the 2nd half lately, it is because teams just pack the paint and wait for Lawson, Chandler, Hickson or whoever has the ball to try to go iso, and get destroyed.

As for getting Shaw the right players, where are you going to get Shaq and Kobe?

I don't get how we as a city can get up in arms about seeing too much iso, trade our best iso player in a generation, and then somehow let it slowly creep back into the mix. I call bs on this one.

Now, as for getting more effective in the half court when teams like SA slow us down, or GS kills us with jumpers..I am all for players adding versatility.

I don't think I can be a fan of the Nuggies so long as Foye is in the long term plans.......just because Shaw is new doesn't mean the city of Denver needs to re-commit all the mistakes Karl made over his tenure. The team needs to be smart, improve upon past successes, learn from mistakes, .....

Ultimately, I have no idea what Shaw is trying to build, if he will end up destroying any momentum the team had built up, and what exactly the final form will look like. Foye did not help Minnesota and is not helping us.....and I'm disgusted by the idea that we basically swapped effectiveness with Minnesota. They are rid of Foye, and their competition is burdened with him in the division. If Iggy was a sabotaging waste of time, so is Foye.

Please forgive me, but I feel the GM TC has made a blundering step in the wrong direction and still is unwilling to accept his mistake and correct it before too long.

And if we are building from scratch and hoping on the NY pick, maybe this is just an exercise in patience.....but at this rate players we want to trade post draft will have minimized their value.

If we are building from scratch then they need to blow up this team asap, waiting longer is not going to help anybodies values, and right now the values of Faried, Lawson, and company are being destroyed.

Amundson waived by Pelicans.

Great backup big? Even a short rental would be a boost to our bigs.

Saves some wheels though. Good for nights when Hickson is bad, Mozgov is subpar, and while McGee is building bone....

If you read the pre-game notes, they highlight Foye's 9 assists over two games .................. 7 in one game and 2 in the other .......annoying.....

Lawson's might be going up. Sure it seems to prove he's not a Chris Paul, but it is proving that he's willing to pour on the hustle even when the roster is weak.

I supported the Shaw hiring and still support him but I'm curious when his seat will start to get hot, this is getting embarrassing. Luckily for him ownership is cheap and won't want to pay two coaches.

He really is working with a crappy poorly fit together roster tbh -but this is telling as to how he would respond if a key player went down in the playoffs.

Is Denver going to keep all of their bigs even with Mcgee coming back?

Or are there no trade rumors at all?

Is the roster that bad?

I mean we are lacking centers with McGee out, but to insist on playing a terrible defender at center 25 mpg while only giving your actual healthy center 20 mpg.

You are having terrible front court defensive problems, so your answer is to give Hickson and Randolph more minutes, while you have 2 solid/good defenders in Q miller and Arthur?

You are having problems getting open shots, in an interview you say that you are comfortable in fournier's ability to help with that, but you refuse to play him because he is not a spot up shooter?

Guys like faried miss a defensive play once or twice, and you yank them, yet guys are out there that cannot cover a pylon.

To me it really seems like Shaw is over his head, and he needs to figure things out. I do not know why but it seems some guys can do no wrong, while others are constantly on the bench. Take Hamilton, why was he benched and Foye reinserted? Hamilton is the better shooter, the better defender, and the better rebounder, so why Foye?

I have not heard a single reliable rumor, but can say they need to move Hickson and Randolph, if you want them.

Apparently Andre Miller got in a shouting match with the coaches during the game tonight. That might be the last thing this team needs right now.

Yep, not a good start for Shaw's career.

At this point, this team needs to do something. We're already 30 games in. A trade or something significant needs to be made, this team really cannot afford to stand pat right now. Even if it's a gamble that will backfire horribly (like trading Lawson for Hedo's expiring and getting our pick back) I think anything is better than doing nothing right now as we know this roster does not cut it and serves no purpose in rebuilding or doing something significant in the playoffs.

And people wonder why we laugh off east coast media all the time, the guy writes an article about a guy and cannot even get a long term veterans name right.

Lawson for an expiring and a pick is a terrible deal, hell the 76ers got 2 lottery picks and cleared cap space for Holiday, and Holiday is no better than Lawson.
