I did not expect this many wings/ perimeter players. Only 4 True Bigs taken

I was so torn over KD and Wade. But Wade's peak is still a tier above Durant's I feel. That would a nice thread topic, I think.

I actually considered taking 09-11 Wade over Kobe at #9, he was perhaps slightly better individually, but Kobe is a bit harder to contain because of his superior outside shooting.

I think you guys are sleeping on one of them. Can't really say anything more because I'd make it too easy for those who are drafting before my next pick. He should be taken pretty soon, regardless of my prompts though.

I'm glad you atleast considered Durant. I don't know what the general consensus is on Durant being the 14th pick. Durant was by no means a slam dunk choice for me, I really had to think about it.

In terms of Pure Peak, I agree that Wade is probably ahead of Durant. But I also think Durant's ability to dominate offensively off the ball could prove valuable on a stacked team. But Wade has proven that he can be the alpha on a title team and that matters. Hopefully I can surround Durant with the right guys.

KD is the first player selected who has 0 rings

I think I can guess the next player who'll be selected with 0 rings. I think Wade's defense and playmaking still separates him from Durant, and that out-weighted Durant's off-ball game for me, personally.

As a last resort, I would PM you with my preferred order even though I don't think it would be necessary. I also suppose that for the next rounds that would not be necessary.

Just to add on to this a bit. Don't PM your picks to me, it could create a conflict of interest. Doctor MJ is impartial, PM your picks to him if such a situation is necessary.

Thanks. With the 12-hour window for a pick, I don't think it would be necessary, at least for me.

Retrospectively I do wish we could pick pre-'80 as well... I'd have been real interested to see where Russell and Wilt go in this.

Top 10, no doubt. I think people would still take obvious guys like Jordan, Hakeem, Magic, Shaq, LeBron and Duncan before them, because these picks are safer due to playing in the modern era, but I'm sure someone would take his chances with Russ and Wilt in the 7-10 range. I know for sure that I'd personally take Wilt instead of Kobe at #9.

There are also several other players (I don't want to mention players who haven't been picked yet) who were in their absolute peak before 1980 but were still serviceable players/borderline stars after that so it will be interesting to see where they go...

Also, in later rounds we could see some guys that will be selected in a 3-year window that was not their peak but probably when they played a 6th-man role or something similar, I am really curious to see how that goes...

More I think about it, the more I think it was a bad idea to go only 3 point era.

I think the problem with including guys like Russell and West is figuring out how they would impact a 2013 style of game. Would West be a 23/6 guy who was a top shooter in the game? Would Russell be a 12/15 guy and DPOY?

I think since this project is about how these teams would do in today's league, it will make the team vs. team matchups a lot more fair and straight up in this current format.

Well for the next project maybe we can expand it to say 1960.

I kind of feel iffy on early 50's stars and how athletic they are/aren't ( overblown in some case, underrated in others) and how they're games would transform.

Was mikan really reasonably mobile for a center for his peak or was he slower than kendrick perkins is now. The only footage we really have of mikan is from the end of his career. Which makes the 3 year peak system harder not to mention even less stats which is fine unless there is a lack of game film.

Also set shooting, no shot clock for some players and a bunch of other problems.

Judging role players from the 60s would a lot more difficult than stars, who would be pretty tough to judge too, in my opinion.

Ah, I don't want to be rude, but I was just browsing the GB, and I saw Mars_Blackmon posting in the Melo for Griffin thread.. Can someone tell this guy to make his pick or something.. I can't even PM him and I can't post on the GB.

Good to see that DHodgkins addressed this issue. Hibachi - if he still won't make his pick after that, you can ask Doctor MJ to PM him, I believe mods can PM everybody.

On a sidenote - Hibachi, you're a damn good poster man. I mean - 540 And 1's in just three months of posting? :o Holy Mother, that's awesome. Many guys do that on general board, but on PC, it's awesome.
