Problem is, BR will report any and every rumor, no matter how dumb they are.

I'd like to know where their revenue is coming from to lure someone away from the New York Times who notoriously pay their sports reporters pretty well.

Turner Broadcasting bought them a few years ago. They have a horrible reputation from a professional standpoint, but as a business it's been wildly successful. Get a bunch of amateur hacks who are just happy to see their name in pixels to rack up page clicks for free from people who don't know any better and rake in millions. Now that they have the millions, they can go out and get talent.
