I highly doubt that they would do it for a guy who is expiring.

They view that pick as if it is untouchable (their fans anyway)

What I could see working is if we gave them Jefferson for Boozer+our first.

I'm not sure they would do it, but, I'm sure they would consider it.

Their fans (on Realgm) always say to Boozer proposals that they could amnestise Boozer instead of giving something up to get rid of him, but they refuse to acknowledge that their ownership is most likely too tight to do that.

If Detroit keeps this up they may just keep their pick. They're getting waxed right now.

Imagine if we got our pick at around 6 and theirs at 9 or 10. Add to that a decent bench guy from the Portland pick and we would have a big influx of talent.

Man if we didn't make that awful deal for Tyrus, we could have back to backs in the first round. I wouldn't mind seeing us take a shot with McDermott. I think he could be a good second unit wing that would provide solid scoring. He's a more pure shooter than almost everyone on our roster
Mike Malone was never given a fair chance in Sacramento, and Ranadive will soon come to regret that, when he's on top of the WC inevitably contending somewhere

Part of me wants to get our pick this season....and part of me wants Chicago to get it this year so we will have a 1st round pick next season

Ideally we would get our pick this year and it be in the top 5, we have an unbelievable draft (finally) and explode next year giving the Bulls our pick in '15 around the #20 area.

This would be absolutely perfect.

Hopefully our FO is taking note of what PDX did at about the halfway mark of last season.

I honestly think we'll fire up the full blown tank soon.

If we go into next season having missed the PO's but having been in with a solid chance for over half a season then confidence would have to be there for a run next season (with much more talent)

It's hard for me to see us getting a top 5 pick with a lot of teams blatantly losing this season. As much as it sucks to say, I don't think we're that good at being that bad. Besides, we've been bad before and it still didn't help us, either Stern **** us or we drafted poorly. Might as well win and see what you've got

DET at best is a fringe playoff team so their pick should be no worse than 15 or 16. If they miss the playoffs the pick should be no worse than 10 given how there are really only 2 teams out West (SAC and UTAH) clearly worse than the non-playoff teams in the East.

I see our talent level similar to DET. We are slightly better than a fringe playoff team. The Bulls will get our pick at 15 or 16. If we miss the playoffs our pick is no worse than 10 but I can't see it being much better than 10.

Picking 5 or 6 I think is a reach given the low level of talent on the bottom dwellers.

One thing is for sure...

DET could be in for a catastrophic season. They could miss the playoffs, lose a top 10 pick and go into the offseason having to sell low on Monroe.

I think there are only 4 teams who are for sure worse than us. Sac, Orlando, Utah, and Milwaukee are the only ones for sure worse than us. The rest could go either way. We could get two top ten picks in this draft if things go well for us.

CSN: Bulls may be closing in on Bobcats' first-round pick

Plenty could change between now and the end of the regular season, but currently the No. 10 pick in the draft (pre-Lottery) is the Lakers at 14-20. That's just one one-half game worse than the Bobcats, but if Charlotte makes the playoffs they're out of the Lottery, regardless of record.

As the No. 7 seed in the East, Charlotte would pick No. 16 if the season ended today, presuming they didn't beat the No. 2 Miami Heat and advance in the playoffs.

And while the top-8 protected pick in 2015 and especially the unprotected pick in 2016 could yield high-impact players, the 2014 draft projects to be one of the deepest in league history. The big names such as Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, Julius Randle and Dante Exum will headline the draft, but there are players projected to be taken in the teens such as wings Rodney Hood (Duke), Sam Dekker (Wisconsin), James Young (Kentucky) or Wayne Selden (Kansas) that would be top-10 picks most years.

The Bulls may have that Charlotte pick and their own first-round pick to use, either to draft two potential core pieces or to bundle to move up in a draft that features likely a handful of future All-Stars.

they kinda gloss over the fact that the pick we are giving them is not going to be good enough to draft any of those guys they named

The Bulls treat that heavily protected Charlotte 1st rounder like a Powerball lottery ticket

Pick isn't going to be nearly what Chicago was hoping for.

If they think it will be a lottery pick, then they'll be disappointed, but it could very well be a 15th, 16th, or 17th pick- still pretty valuable if you ask me.

In the 2014 draft, its slightly less valuable than the Detroit pick which is pretty highly coveted around here.

I usually don't value draft picks unless it's in the top 5. Otherwise you're drafting a player that either have a glaring flaw that you're hoping won't get exposed in the NBA or has to be groomed into a star quality player over 3-4 years.

Anywhere in the top 9 has value to me.

Usually there are some surprises and some GM's look like genius' by taking no brainer picks who slid.
