Splitter out 3 to 5 weeks

Post#1 » by imagump1313 » Sun Jan 5, 2014 9:33 pm

Baynes and Ayres are going to have to pick it up. I hope it gives these guys time to figure things out and become more productive. Baynes has been awesome in small stretches and invisible in others. Kinda like Splitter :D

More Diaw and Baynes, and hopefully Bonner. Shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Really sucks but hopefully this means more Baynes.

And I don't know quite how this happened but I've been impressed by the play of Ayres lately. He seems to be decent in four or five minute bursts.

His finishing ability hasn't changed though. Not impressed. He remains a 6'9'' guy who simply hustles. Doesn't exactly do anything more than that.

The one advantage he has over Baynes is that he's more athletic, which makes him able to play with Duncan. Duncan mostly guards Centers. Unless we're playing teams where Duncan can guard the PF and allow Baynes to guard Centers, then Ayres is the better choice. Ayres can guard PFs on the perimeter better.

He's a void offensively. He can barely catch an entry pass, and if he does he's got no low post moves. His only options on offense are putbacks and gimmes off sweet passes.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more (or any) Baynes sightings with Splitter out.
