Gomes traded. Who are we targetting?

Post#1 » by MvPderozan » Tue Jan 7, 2014 2:50 am

Marc Stein:
Thunder involvement in this manner would create some extra luxury-tax wiggle room for OKC ... presumably to set them up for another trade

We really need a backup PG right now. Fisher is just terrible.

Thunder have plenty of Exceptions Miller could surely for into, but would Presto go get an unhappy about his playing time Miller to fill in for twenty games. Miller and Fisher playing together...

Andre Miller seems to be all over wiretap.. at a salary of 5 mil, it would have to be a little more significant move, which seems to make it unlikely.

I didn't actually see anything about Gomes being traded... source?

My best guess would be just a random FA signing.

Its not official, just Marc Stein speculating on Twitter. He's tweeting rumors he's hearing.

My understanding , it was more than PT. Shaw broke his consecutive streak of games played, it was somewhere around 250 games, as I recall.

Dre for Thabo? I hope not, but it keeps under the tax. I don't like the fit though.

He was moved in the Bayless-Lee Swap. We were the third team involved.

It leaves around 2.3 mil under the tax. If (most likely to be traded) Thabo's gone, that's another 3.9 mil, so 6.2. Could just be a small signing too, which is most likely I'd say.

I'd do Thabo for Dunleavy.

So the deal that was made the Thunder traded Cash and Gomes for 2 2nd round picks. one will only come out way if the 6ers are picking between 21 and 25 in next years draft. That will not happen. The 2nd one is a 2017 conditional pick.

So they did not receive much, other than space under the Lux tax. NewsOK states it is around $2.3 Million they are under. I would assume the roster will stay at 12 plus Russ in street cloths until further notice.

How do you guys feel about an Andrew Bynum signing and a Perk buy out?
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

Not at all. Bynum doesn't seem to like basketball. At least Perk tries.

Thabo, Jones, Dallas 1st for Arron Afflalo. I don't think Orlando would do this though, but maybe if they are willing to go all in on the tank we could get something close to that. With Gomes gone, I think wed manage to stay under the tax level now with that deal.

Please Presti listen to this.. I think Afflalo would be the perfect fit for OKC. I think we should really push for him. This is a time our organization has to move outside its comfort zone and pick up an impact player through trade.

The time is this off season, use Martin TPE and go into the tax the next few years. Go this year and the year Durant needs resigned Thunder have to get out of the tax cause of the repeater penalty.
