I see us getting destroyed by the Warriors...they're just a ridiculously good shooting team, and they're just going to pick apart our defense. Curry's gonna drop 40 imo.

But...I do think we have a decent chance at beating the Heat and Raptors if Deron returns.

Yea, agree. Warriors are one of the teams (along with Rockets) who are just a bad matchup for us, even if we played up to our potential. They're young, they're an excellent jump shooting team, they're athletic, and they have a solid defense this year too. They're going to torch us, and we don't have the firepower to match.

THIS.

THIS. THIS. THIS.

Amazing how the dude that's being paid less than all of the big names has the biggest heart on the team.

And Mizra is the man

The team looked pretty good except for that 2nd quarter. JJ was outrageously selfish in the 4th. Hated it. That's why we need Pierce on the floor in situations. 2nd ball handler. Glad he snapped out of it and found Mirza for that dagger 3. We definitely needed that.

AK47 was completely awesome. This is the stuff I expected from him when we signed him. We need more of him and Mirza. Less of Alan Anderson. Hopefully less of Shaun Livingston when we get Deron back.

JKidd killed us in the 2nd quarter. We went on a major drought and he just sat there. No TOs. We could've won this game comfortably if it wasn't for that. Really really frustrating.

We do really miss Deron though. Not sure we can beat the Warriors without him but it'll be nice to see how much better our 3PT defense has improved. Good test.

EDIT: One last addition - Will AK47 eventually be the starting 4?

Amazingly obvious numbers: 93, 82, 86 .
I hope this is not a fluke and we can consistantly start to defend better and keep teams under 100 points.
And to state the obvious: AK does make a huge difference to our defence. Even if he doesnt get steals or blocks, he is deflecting and disrupting so many passes that you can see how the opposing team just starts to hog the ball more because they dont want him getting to the passing lanes. And its contagious to the whole team. After AK makes the effort, you can see JJ try to get to the passing lanes, then Livingston, Deron ( not in this game obvously) and so on.
Its not the prettiest team to watch right now, but oh boy what a difference winning makes :) .

Edit:
Oh and please stop harping on Joe Johnson, yes he played some iso ball and selfish ball in the 4th, but there was a reason for it. He did make 3/4 jumpers during a crucial stretch, including a slump busting 3. That one turnover he made against Millsap was definatly ugly, but that doesnt mean he wasnt a huge reason why we won this game. Him scoring 20 + is always good for us.

Good point about our defense. We have been very disruptive and have caused a lot of turnovers over the last couple of games. The activity level in general has been great and thats highly encouraging.

Didn't see the game, but glad we won. Say what you want but let's give Kidd some props, undefeated in 2014 :D

Honestly though, still rather confusing seeing Reggie get minutes, how was his performance? Was it his typical disruptive self?

Pierce had 9 points, 4 reb, 3 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks! That is contribution on both ends of the floor in 32 min. 3 blocks and 2 steals from a sf playing a power forward role. I think Pierce set the tone defensively and became the second play maker when the offense was stagnant. You guys need to appreciate the effort!

Pierce was definitely awesome.

I think moving him to the four, was an awesome idea by Kidd. Really maximizes his talents. And I think KG does better at center also.

Great versatile stat line reflecting an all around game - playing out of position. However, Paul was too passive & unselfish offensively in the second half. UNLESS his fractured hand still was bothering him, he should have shot more. Reggie NEVER EVER should get shots off pick & roll, &, even though he made several very key shots, Joe forced ISO too much last night.

I told you guys right after the trade that Paul is the ultimate team player who gives each game exactly what it needs - but sometimes he becomes TOO freaking unselfish. As you have seen a bunch of times, he is STILL more than capable of lighting it up - Paul is a 'professional' scorer who is #19 All Time in NBA history closing in on 25,000 points.

I liked Mirza & AK-47 very much again last night. AA & SL played well also.

The team needs DWill back to have a shot at beating the red hot, young, athletic, lights out shooting Warriors.
SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.

I agree on needing more of Mirza and AK. I don't agree with less of AA. Anderson played great D all game especially in the 4th. He's one of the best defenders on the team, not saying a whole lot, since this team plays poor defense. He also needs all of Terry's minutes. Terry finished the game with a -11 and was god awful in the 2nd. He's a streaky shooter who doesn't play a lick of defense. AA just needs to be a 3 and D guy. He spaces the court on offense, plays solid defense.

Last night was one of the first I saw Pierce really mentally invested on both ends, especially the defensive.

All these injuries and what not included, I still feel if this team had Shaw or Karl we'd be sitting on a nearly inverted record right now. Maybe something like 20 and 14.

The Brooklyn Nets have a nickname for their last-second lord and savior, Joe Johnson.

They call him “Joe Jesus.”

“He might not be there when you call on him,” Kevin Garnett explained. “But he’s there when you need him.”

Even the team knows how erratic Joe is.
